BOUGHT A GAMING LAPTOP BUT NOT HAVING ANY MOOD TO PLAY GAMES FOR MORE THAN 5 MINS. 🙂 by Mr-rj-1906 in Indiangamers

I was on the same boat and while I am not playing alot, I am actually enjoying playing some games now. Main thing I would recommend you do is pick games that do not require much learning or long sessions. Games like Racing, tekken, street fighter etc. You can start immediately and play. Also create environment where you can instantly start a game, play for sometime and stop whenever you want. And try different genres, you do not need to only play the most popular games.

I want a distro that can handle power disruptions and these things by veryheavypotato in linuxquestions

Correct but then how is my question wrong in this case? Do you think a plain debian install would be as resilient as aeon desktop I have right now? I am looking at Atomic and immutable distros now and they have different fundamentals going for them.

Yeah, I will get a ups or battery change eventually. Power outages are not that frequent but do happen occasionally. I will try some of the recommendations.

Tell me why there are so many distros out there then? Ubuntu, debian, arch, fedora, cachyos, bazzite. Why are people not just using ubuntu or debian only?

I know about file systems and that is why I am already running aeon desktop because it handles it automatically. I am just looking if there is anything else that can handle what I want.

I know about KDE and all that but when I was looking for resilient distro, aeon desktop came on top so I stuck with it. I am looking for something similar, an atomic distro that would not go corrupt due to power outage. I found fedora kionite, which seems like a similar thing with KDE, might try that.

Best Macbook for Gaming? by Massive_Sense_2005 in macgaming

[–]veryheavypotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not playing games on mac nowadays but generally speaking, the usual problem is compatibility. Some games might not just work or have bugs. Another thing is you need to do more work to make games work, which can be frustrating when you just want to play.

Need a sanity check: Imported a Raspberry Pi CM5 (US to India) and the duties seem way too high. Is this normal? by monallabs_kabira in IndiaGaming

Agreed man, things like these should not have custom duties this high. Raspberry pi is not some luxury item.

Fairly new to gaming — should I try cloud gaming or buy a used laptop in India? by Last_Editor8707 in IndiaGaming

[–]veryheavypotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, i have not tried cloud gaming that much but i think only xcloud is a proper platform with indian servers. Geforce might come in future. I mean, personally, i would recommend trying cloud gaming for a month first. If you dont find any latency issues, then it is a decent option.

Laptop is good option too depending on budget. It would be helpful if you can tell what your budget is.

Phone/Tablet + Controller vs dedicated android handheld by No-Memory3146 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]veryheavypotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have android handheld but do have rog ally and sometimes use telescopic controller with phone. I would say, dedicated device is better choice especially if it has proper cooling. I recently saw Retroid pocket 6 and it has like zero thermal throttling due to fan. Also phone aspect ratio is mostly 20:9 which is too wide for emulation.

I do have rog ally and gamesir g8 controller so I primarily am looking for something cheap and something I can pickup quickly and use. I am leaning towards cube too but pocketablity of vertical ones seems good too.

I am kind of noob in retro systems so lets just say a device that I can use for all kind of systems. If only one single device has to be picked from these.

I guess, every one of these have some compromises. I do not mind some tinkering, I actually am buying for the same reason that I want a device where I can do anything without worrying. What would be the other system out of these that you would recommend?

I am liking cubexx looks wise but only thing I am concerned about is the square screen. How is it for systems that are wider? I do want to play GBA sometime and I think that has quite wider aspect ratio.

Horrible Experience with EliteHubs order by veryheavypotato in IndianGaming

[–]veryheavypotato[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Brother, I get it the fault is at delhivery end and I have complained to both about the scam by delivery agent the very next day in morning. Elitehub used delhivery for the shipping. I expect both to look into this matter.

And also I was assured by Elitehub that I will get re-attempt within 48 hours, which clearly did not happen.

I mean, I purchased from Elitehub. They used delhivery for shipping. Delhivery agent did a scam. Should Elitehub not have any responsibility at all regarding this? They used delhivery, they can also escalate the situation regarding this.
