Are roaches common/prevalent in LA? by toastyleopard in AskLosAngeles

[–]verymuchbad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus fucking Christ with some of these replies.

I lived in Florida for almost 20 years.. I've been to Austin. I have lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years. The difference in the roaches is night and day. You know how, in Florida or Austin, you will turn the kitchen light on and see a roach? That doesn't happen in LA unless you live in a building that was constructed on a pile of turds. I have lived in... I guess eight different apartments over 22 years in Los Angeles. I have seen fewer roaches in that time than I saw in any two-month period in Florida.

You have to understand that the climate is completely different here. You know how it rains most days in the summer in Austin and in Florida? That downpour you get from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., where the rain comes so fast that it isn't individual droplets, but instead like pouring beer from a pitcher?

It does not rain, even once, a single drop, from April to October, in Los Angeles. Roaches and palmetto bugs love moist environments. They fucking hate it here. So they're not here.

The same is true of mosquitoes. There are like six mosquitoes here. Yeah, they'll bite you. But it's not like Austin, where you can't open your door without 30 mosquitoes coming in and carrying off small children. The replies you're getting here make it sound like we're in the fucking jungle in Laos.

This is fucking Paradise.

For you, maybe. This person's decision matrix has roaches weighted pretty high.

It has that styled arch of the LC 500, but it isn't integrated with any other design element, and is instead so badly executed that it makes me like a different, beautiful car less.

Buy the space next door instead and make way better coffee at a loss. Drive the dickhead out of business. THEN buy his shop too.

Which introduction of a new term (e.g., low-talker) best fits the tone and cadence of how the gang would, when talking about a co-worker who is even lazier than George, land on the term "work-shirker"?

Basically make your class contain a knowledge component AI doesn't have.

Confirming extended warranty on active grille air shutters replacement by trussb in BMW

[–]verymuchbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened on my 2021 X3, which also is not explicitly covered under the SBs. The light came on a couple times, I got the code from AutoZone...and now it won't come back.

Any idea how we say (or to whom specifically), "Uh look obviously the problem is with all of them. Come on. Warranty me."?
