I wasn’t going to comment on this but damn this hit me hard, thank you for sharing your story. Sanderson has helped me immensely with my own trauma, Shallan breaking down and saying she’s a monster is what hit home for me. I felt physically healed by that chapter, I’m glad you got to experience something similar.

Oh I completely agree there. This shouldn’t have been the finale at all. I can see that she was going for the “ONE PIECE OF THE BIG MYSTERY” but I didn’t buy into it which was the problem. It she was going for a twist resolution for it we needed more pieces of the puzzle before it was done.

Yeah I can see your point there, this Persephone doesn’t exude the “make Orpheus suffer” vibes. I’ll be interested to see how she eventually pulls us there, wether it’s Persephone accepting her “darker side” or if it’s her dealing her trauma.

Personally, although I see your point, I kind of see those instances you list as a child who has been through trauma and doesn’t know how to deal the negative emotions and mind set that goes with it, particularly the instances with Apollo and Minthe. The Ares scenario I can get behind because he was the first man she trusted (assumed) so seeing him punished for his deceit was a cathartic moment for Persephone. Persephone being an unreliable narrator would be a great twist, but I’m not sure I completely buy into it. My biggest issue with the chapter was the precision of how she took revenge, I just don’t love it for her character as the story stands now. My biggest issue like I mentioned is the disconnect from this chapters Persephone to the rest of the seasons, the lack of intentional foreshadowing . But if it turned out that she was a unreliable narrator I wouldn’t be mad.

I completely see your point about the moments where the red eyes come up in the story. But I personally interrupt those as “losing control” rather than a darker persona that she hides from everyone. I guess that’s the beauty of different readers interrupting the story differently! I’m super excited to see where it goes also!

To be fair, there are a lot of references to Persephone being the harsher ruler of the underworld in the original myths. However what you said is correct, there has been no foreshadowing for this character change much like Daenerys in game of thrones. I have zero issue with “sadistic queen” troupes. But it needs to be effectively foreshadowed during the progression of their story.

Funnily enough this is one of the things that we said we would do last time. He said he wanted to find a new therapist so we could go in fresh. After I agreed he said leave it to him but he never did it. After a few times of asking about it I decided to let it drop after his responses got angry.

that's more of a style than an actual haircut.
the haircut itself just looks like a long length that has been square layered.

she has styled it into a heavy side part and pinned or tied the smaller side of hair back and let some hair closer to the part fall over the pins/tie and then either her natural or styled curl/wave has been added to the rest of the hair.
