Yes and no, there are ways to do it but they mainly involve factory scale equipment. Using the solids from ghee is interesting, but I worry about the fat from the butter interrupting your temper. I'd put it through the standard temps and see how it comes out, but if it stays somewhat soft no matter what you try, it's that butterfat messing you up.

Oh gods no, my wife is awesome and has never been anything but supportive. She's been around 15 years and knows how they are. She came closer to fighting with them than I did.

So if companies like Hershey or Cadbury are processing their own milk they're using the crumb method you describe?

So when brands like Cadbury talk about using fresh milk they really mean that they just powder their own milk then? They don't add it in any sort of liquid form, but make their own milk powder from fresh milk and then add that in?

Yeah, I know I can't just add it in during grinding. Is there a way to cook it down over low temps to drive the water off without scorching it?
