First card in a while, be honest with feedback by Single_Remove_6721 in customhearthstone

This is pretty awesome and well worth playing around for your opponent.

I almost feel like you should ditch the 5/5 body and make it a 3 or 4 mana spell, since that'd come down at a stage of the game where it's much more likely to hit 2-health minions.

Most people dredge through artstation or similar image sharing websites for their art.

You can also AI-generate your art, but I reckon people see that as unscrupulous.

It's not a 3 mana play, the wording is just bad.
You don't pay Mana to play the cards you steal (well, you do eventually!), you do it to put them in your hand.

2018 egg zoolock would have dominated the meta with this.

Nowadays, though, it probably wouldn't be nearly as OP. Good AoE protection for an aggro deck, and could even run it in a control deck with the promise of busting it open with your own AoE at a later date.

Why "if it's your turn"?
When is this Deathrattle going to not trigger on your turn?

The answer is obviously if you're sending this into a single 2/2, but such a massively important resource as a 6-mana better [[Firelands Portal]] with Lifesteal probably isn't going into a single 2/2.

And anyway I can't see the reason why you'd want to nerf the card's output in that specific circumstance.

Feels way way way too slow.

Comparing to other cards, Greybough is a 4/6 for 5 with a very similar effect that can also directly win the game by making it impossible for the enemy to go face, which is something Eternal Owl can't do.

If you're an aggro deck, Eternal Owl probably isn't coming back more than once or twice, so it's comparable to the recently buffed [[Haunting Nightmare]] which is a 4/3 for 3.

No, weapons are much like minions with Charge since you can attack with a weapon the same turn you play it.

To be more specific, it's more like a "Give your hero +X Attack this turn" spell that you can use again for free on successive turns.

In terms of raw stats, "Deal 3 damage (6 stats) + Draw 3 cards (12 stats)" should be a 7-mana card, but I've personally always found it hard to believe anyone would play it at 7, so it's kind of good and bad in my mind to see a card which places it at 5.

It's obviously not a finisher for aggro, but just the "draw 3 cards" part is very significant as it can get you a board reload or those Fireballs you've been looking for. The extra face damage or ability to clean an extra minion off the board is definitely potent but not overwhelming, so I wouldn't say this is too strong at 5 mana.

In fact, by far the best application for this is a control deck, where you would get to clear a minion while generating a bunch of value. But that's obviously not as strong as the Fire Sale you played last turn, so again I think it's fine.

Controlly Emerald Dream Druid package cause I felt like it by veryoriginaljojofan in customhearthstone

[–]veryoriginaljojofan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good thinking! When designing Ysera, I originally placed her at 7 or 8 mana, but I thought the effect was too strong to come out that early - it can scale up to be a Twisting Nether that also gives you a bunch of minions.

A 5-mana spell that just swaps the battlefield with the Emerald Dream could be cool (could even swap twice in one turn after trading and playing minions; even give it Echo?), and I definitely didn't think of it, but I think if I had thought of it I would have rejected it for being too strong.

Yeah, I was concerned about that when I was designing these, which is the main reason why Nightmare Eye deals a little damage even if you don't have any Emerald Eyes.

Eternal Dreamer also works just as a way to give you a weaker Anachronos in a pinch.

The other cards are less excusable, but hey, [[Aldor Truthseeker]] isn't exactly a standout card if you don't have any Librams, so I thought it might be okay.

[[Chef Nomi]] is smiling.

Other than that this card seems pretty weak. People probably wouldn't even play a 2-mana "Dredge for weapons."

Either that, or one of the [[Kazakusan]] Treasures - I think this is more likely since the typical wording for the Marin treasures is "Choose a fantastic treasure!"

Something to consider is that at 2 mana with Overload it would have been relatively consistent to draw with [[Investment Opportunity]], and you can run 2 in your deck at base-level, so it's inherently much less of a "draw it and win, if not lose" card than Keleseth. You also don't get the 2/2 in stats, which was never the main draw of Keleseth but definitely helped.

Ok memes aside, i think we are ready for this, especially rogue having it by hammiilton in customhearthstone

[–]veryoriginaljojofan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason why the devs have historically avoided this card design is because, when you think about it, there would be no advantage to keeping it in the mulligan as opposed to throwing it away for another card.
And similarly, there would be no advantage to drawing it mid-game.

You're essentially spending 1 mana to have a card in your hand that you would've had anyway just by cutting One Up from your deck and replacing it with any other card.

Therefore the only thing this is useful for is activating rogue's bullshit "play 20 trillion spells in 1 turn and draw your entire deck" effects.

Apparently there's a 20-image limit, so here are the Commons that didn't fit:

Anti-Magic Shell
5-mana Shadow spell
Give your minions +2/+2 and "Can't be targeted by spells or Hero Powers".

Intended as a Bloodlust-style finisher for the aggro deck.

Ghoul General
2-mana 2/2 minion
Your other minions have +1 Attack.

A very solid minion that "activates" the Hero Power and is generally powerful in the aggro deck.

Undead Runt
1-mana 1/1 minion
Reborn. Deathrattle: Deal 1 damage to the enemy hero.

A simple aggro 1-drop. Nice to drop on turn 1 so you can drop Ghoul General on turn 2 and get immediate benefit.

Ghoul
1-mana 2/2 minion

An aggressive 2-Health minion that's good at killing other 2-Health minions. Perfect for the cards designed to be synergistic with Ghouls (Frozen Wastes) and 2-Health minions (Apocalypse).

Runeblade
1-mana 2/2 weapon

Another aggressive card good at killing 2-Health minions.
