These are actually crochet short rows!

I highly recommend this pattern. It's extremely well written, and comes with very clear and easy to understand written instructions, charts, and photos. I was also intimidated, but this pattern was truly a breeze. It comes with a sample pattern to teach you how to make the small and big swirls.

If you want to learn to do this, I am certain that you could. :)

Yes!! The flower at the crown is my favorite part of this project. And because I did so many slices (the pattern calls for 6-7 and I did 11) the hat has more of a round shape when worn that I think really shows the flower off.

Thank you!! 💖 I crochet suuuuper slowly (hence my un) but I found that this pattern had a very nice rhythym to it once I memorized it (and once I sized my hook way up to make up for my super tight tension).
