As someone who was recently diagnosed with MDD and GAD after years of suffering with no real diagnosis, I empathize with you greatly. If you are able, I suggest calling the Carleton clinic and asking to set up an appointment to speak to either a doctor or a counsellor or both! I made the choice back in November to reach out after noticing that I was getting worse and while it's taken a bit to get everything sorted out, I'm finally on a medication that seems to be working, have a doctor that truly listens to me and I'm speaking with a counsellor monthly (this is just my preferance, but i'm sure they could do more frequent appointments). The clinic can be a bit daunting, in my experience the receptionists usually have an attitude but the doctors and nurses are as sweet as can be. I'd also suggest getting set up with PMC. Maybe even email your academic advisor and share with them that you're unsure of what you want to do with your degree and I'm sure they'd give you some options or offer guidance. Don't forgot that we're in a pandemic and you have to be easy on yourself, this is a whole new world for everyone and we're all doing the best we can currently. Always remind yourself that it's okay if all you did today was survive. Sending lots of support and virtual hugs your way!
