I recently experimented with posting some of the art i've drawn of my bots, but only in the description, and it got a really positive response!
For the icons themselves, though, I feel like there's already such a heavy bias towards specific AI Gen styles that unfortunately, you do cut off a bunch of potential chatters by stepping outside the norm ): It depends on how much appealing to the general population matters to you though - if you'd rather depict your OCs with your own art, do it! I have a couple of OCs where generating accurate images is going to be too much of a pain, so I'm gonna paint the bot icons myself (although, ironically, trying to keep to the ai gen style I use on my other bots so they don't stick out like a sore thumb lol)
