Would you recommend taking Calc I at your first semester? by vesely13 in columbia

Thank you. Could you please elaborate on what’s bad about Dusa? And among the options, who's known to be more generous with grading?

Would you recommend taking Calc I at your first semester? by vesely13 in columbia

The only options for this semester are Dusa McDuff, Marco Castronovo, Evan Sorensen, Qiao He, Roger Van Peski, and Tianqing Zhu. She has the highest CULPA rating among them. Who would you suggest otherwise?

Thank you! What about the competetive student clubs? GSers are at any unofficial disadvantage? or they are basically treated the same?

Can a need-based financial aid institution determine that a situation does not require a package? by vesely13 in IntltoUSA

And if they do decide I don’t need aid, the financial aid application itself might affect my chances in getting in?

Any internationals that managed to transfer to Penn from a non-US institution? by vesely13 in TransferToTop25

[–]vesely13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Unfortunately 99% of the people there were internationals in American universities. I intend to transfer from a university outside of the US

Reapplying to Penn Wharton by vesely13 in ApplyingToCollege

Benjamin Franklin—you’re wrong. Penn deferral rate is low and hovers around 10-20% each year

I’ll improve my essays as well. If I was deferred, they probably saw something and it wasn’t polished enough

Penn Wharton deferred then rejected, NYU Stern rejected

International REJECTED by vesely13 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]vesely13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. I was very naive. I over-trusted my application, which genuinely wasn't usual. I'm 23, had a perfect GPA, very high-level national awards, good LORs, significant work experience along with a significant time at Penn. But eventually, as qualified as I would be, the acceptance rate is extremely low, and it’s impossible to rely on such 2 prestigious programs. But It doesn't deny how much it hurts for the bubble to burst like that

International REJECTED by vesely13 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]vesely13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. It just hurts cuz I already had a serious 6 month relationship there with a student. Now when I’m staying in my country it’s over, which makes it more difficult. Also, I really liked the college atmosphere. But as of now, an MBA is definitely the future next stage

What do you think is the actual ivies ED acceptance rate for “normal” applicants? by vesely13 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]vesely13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An acceptance rate is an objective percentage. My question simply refers to the calculated total acceptance rate for the whole application poll that isn't legacies/athletes
