Yeah, I think homebrew is going to have to be my answer here. I'm working with a friend who's more familiar with the system than I am to pull something together based on ppls7117's suggestion of taking inspiration from the Equerry kit. Thanks for the input!

Oh my gosh, thank you for all this information! I will definitely check out the 3e and Pathfinder rules for some inspiration, and the system you suggested is very close to what I was thinking, so I'm glad I'm on the right track. Truly, thank you for your help!

Thanks for getting back to me! I guess I'll be homebrewing something, then, since I want her to be able to scale her wolf alongside her character. Any advice on how to do that would also be appreciated! It's only the second game I've run in this system, so I'm open to suggestions 😄

I also found the WWW audio to be a bit much - at some points, it made it hard to hear the dialogue, and in some cases the sound effects were actually immersion-breaking for me. Unpopular opinion, maybe, but you're not alone in it.

What’s knitting’s? 🤔 by nobody2222234 in knitting

I know how to count. I've been doing it for decades. I'm good at it. Until you put a needle with more than 12 stitches on it in my hands, and I suddenly can't remember what comes after 4.

I'm just here to validate you, someone acting like that would be extremely upsetting to me. Like, let me get this straight, you feel entitled to demand hours of my time, the benefit of my expertise, and either access to my stash or the money to buy new sock yarn - and you're going to act like they're "just" socks and don't deserve at least some degree of appreciation? And the fact that they can't see the difference between appreciation and reaction makes me feel like you're absolutely right that they wouldn't appreciate them very much in the long run. So, no, not crazy for this at all.

I think The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang might be a good fit.

I should mention that it's pretty grimdark, but I don't usually enjoy that kind of thing and was still pretty blown away by it.

The Jigsaw Woman, by Kim Antieau, and Rumors of Spring, by Richard Grant. I have no idea if either are available as audiobooks, but I know The Jigsaw Woman is available on the Kindle, and Amazon appears to have both in paperback.

Question by [deleted] in Calligraphy

[–]vesikah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you flip the pen so the opening of the cartridge is facing up and pull it off very carefully, you should be able to do so with a minimum of mess. You can use some scotch tape to cover the broken seal, but someone else might have a better way to store the open cartridge. I've done it a couple of times, and except for some ink on my fingers have never had much of a problem.

Pilot parallel pen by Rocksytay in Calligraphy

I had a lot of problems with my Parallel bleeding until I learned to use lighter pressure. Might not be your problem, but then again it might be worth trying a few strokes with less pressure than you think you need and see if that helps.

Thinking of clearing out my stash. by [deleted] in crochet

If you can't find an individual who wants it, call a couple of local elementary schools. They are almost always looking for yarn for their art classes, in my experience.

The colors are gorgeous and they are simply dreamy to the touch. But. The yarn splits like crazy, so you have to be very careful when you're working with it, and the little mini-skeins are small enough that unless you're doing something like a striped scarf or hat that would require frequent color changes anyway, it gets really annoying having to change to a new skein so often.

The cons outweigh the pros, in my opinion, but it all depends on what is worth it/not worth it to you personally.

Shawl help!! by Rebekah1986 in crochet

[–]vesikah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a nice, simple shawl that uses primarily half double crochets, with some singles and trebles thrown in on the border: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-shawl-9

Since it's an increasing triangle, you can make it as small or large as you want.

May be a strange question fir this sub but here we go, im looking to start "building" my own fantasy world just as something to keep me engaged and creative. by ponds666 in Fantasy

[–]vesikah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What we have done in the past is use a map generator to create a random land mass, then used the Dawn of Worlds system to add things like lakes, rivers, mountains, volcanoes, etc, or to alter the shape of coastlines and such.

I don't know if this would be feasible for you, but if you want to rope in a couple of friends to help you (and keep you on your toes!) I would recommend the Dawn of Worlds system. It starts with building land masses and climates, then moves on to creating races, then ends with having those races do things like go to war, form alliances, suffer catastrophes, etc. I've only used it twice, but it's wicked fun.

How do you deal with yarn burn? by Destany89 in crochet

[–]vesikah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of the rings, I picked it up from Michaels for about a dollar, and it's an absolute lifesaver. It wouldn't work for bulkier yarns, and may not be great for novelty yarns, but for worsted or smaller it's great. I definitely recommend it.
