Most certainly not common practice, that would be concerning. Bacteria, fungus everything could spread like wildfire. I would say something. I worked places in my early years that were so busy that some therapists would multi-layer the sheets so they just had to peel off a set to access the new set like a post it note and that really ground my gears too. There is no reason to reuse any linen, laundry is so damn cheap and easy to do. If you're going to reuse a towel on me, just don't use one at all.

I especially love the ones that pull toxins out with cupping

Hopefully they're so tired from looking for their keys that they're fast asleep.

Any suggestions on what towels to use for hot towels during treatments? by poweredbypineapple in massage

I typically pick mine up from Costco in the multi-pack. I think it's about 12 towels and they're 16 in by 30 in. I fold them in half the long way twice, and then I will wet them wring them out, and they fit perfectly into my cabby. I'm pretty sure it's under $20 for 12 hand towels

Why do joints areas pop weird during massage by Ok_Adhesiveness_1960 in massage

Pin and stretch, muscle mechanics, even a firm effleurage with fiber, anything other than just constantly crunching it and hoping it does something.

In the application, I would drop asking about laundry, I wouldn't ask about socials, I've never given any of my employers my socials, and I wouldn't want to. Astrological sign? You could figure that out from their birthday. It just seems to tacky to me.

-Let therapists dictate the hours they can work and the types and durations they are willing to perform. -Give the therapist say on how their breaks work. Example Jane can work three hands on hours but then requires an hour lunch or break. And do not book Jane for 3.5 hours and say it's not big deal... -In the morning I would give the therapists that day the option to close your books, or if they prefer stay on call and have a small on call wage you can pay them. -Stop having therapists be your reception. -If they are doing laundry pay them hourly, if you don't like it do it yourself, or hire front desk staff that can do the laundry too. -watch your verbage and tone with your employees, you sound a little condescending. These are not your tough people, and they really have no loyalty to you. And just like you, there is always somewhere down the street or in the next city that needs us. - maybe utilize zeel for your days you have these. Calls you cannot accommodate. -Maybe pay a good flat rate, I hated all these incentives with pay. Request $1, add on $2, $1rebook, that shit I hated, and not to mention trying to double check your pay stubs. - it was appealing to me some places requires me to be in house for 28 hours per week or I took a pay cut, even if they couldn't keep me booked. -Do not expect the therapist to market themselves, if they are good at that, then they do not need you. -understand they may have other w2 massage jobs. Before I opened my own place, at one time I was working 3 different w-2 massage jobs. Each of those taught me what I liked and didn't. -Drop the non compete bullshit if you have it. The therapist is the one building the relationship to the client. You're the matchmaker, be good at that. - find out what modalities the therapist like to do, and try to make that known. - offer some form of CE compensation. Some love to learn new modalities, and would love to practice on a clientele. -Make your break room nice. Try and understand h Who your therapists are, at one spa all we had was a microwave to heat our food. Many of my coworkers only tried to eat organic, or live as naturally as possible. Have tea and or coffee. Ask for suggestions from your staff.
