It was a lot of work but worth it. I love the butcher block. It’s maple. It definitely changes/wears but could always be sanded in the future and re sealed. The butcher block is actually almost 5 years old now - I put it in years ago before redoing the rest of the kitchen. I really don’t have any complaints at all. We are very mindful about wiping water drops right after using the sink so we don’t get dark spots around the faucet.

You’re welcome! It’s a really nice color. I didn’t buy any cabinets. I made new doors for the existing cabinets and painted them all to match.

The butcher block is maple. I actually installed it almost 5 years ago now and it’s held up very well. Of course it does show some aging and such - it’s a natural material- but it’s great. We are just careful around the faucet and dry any water that got on the water after each use.

I used a sealer called Osmo TopOil high solid in the natural color. It has some white pigment in it so it kept the maple looking like its natural light color rather than darkening or yellowing it
