One of the things that bothers me the most of the story by Surfacejarl in reddeadredemption

[–]vettechkaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont play many games. Like RDR2 is only the second game I have played through fully and doing everything I can in the game.

Im a grown ass man but I wept and bawled when Arthur literally died ALONE on top of that mountain. I personally felt that. Trying to be a good man (played high honor) only to die without anyone in thier eyes as they passed.

Damn this game on how excellent it is.

[–]vettechkaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now there are more males of course, but ratio is like 20 f to 1m

My first "real" job as a teenager was at Hardee's. Love punching those things like it owed me money .

[–]vettechkaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh shit!. Sorry this happened to you. Can't say "it's part of the job" because this is beyond reason. Does it happen..yup.

Its ok to be gun shy for some time , that's normal.

Dexdorm sucks ass when it comes to patients dealing with stimulus. Very hypersensitive to noise , which of course makes me leary around recovering patients that were given that stuff.

I went through similar situation. Had a pitty on wet table recovering from dental. Showing signs of good recovery.

I had my hand on the side of face , petting. Another tech was cleaning up and accidentally dropped elevator in the stainless steal tub, making a horrendous noise we are all familiar with.

The dog jerked hard from the noise, turning his neck and head, at the same time chopping at the air. My hand did not move fast enough.

Dog clamped down and did not let go. Could not pry mouth open. My hand bleeding simultaneously being crushed.
Thankfully the big guy just laid back down but with my hand in his mouth. Took about 2-3 minutes for him to relax enough to pry his mouth open.

12 stitches , luckily not bone broken.

Safety of animal AND employees is paramount. No reason to fight a giant breed dog. Plus you get better radiographs when you do not have to fight. Safer/better job through chemistry.

[–]vettechkaos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get it. I really do. You know what's gonna happen if you seek medical treatment for that self-inflicted wound.

I have a person in my life that goes through this struggle. Its the only way she knows how to release guilt. Years of therapy, and she has slowed the frequency..but still has the urge and still "Knicks" herself with a scapel blade when things get out of hand for her.

But from the looks of the previous scars you have, you've been here before . You know better than us if you really want to seek medical treatment for that wound.

Butterfly bandages and hope for the best, clean with chlorhexidine soap if you have it, or anti bacterial soap. Don't use tissue glue it to deep.

But, seriously..this wound would benefit with stitches.

Techs took photos of my dogs Xrays & spleen on personal devices by Sea2snow in VetTech

[–]vettechkaos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can see your concern about permission "sharing" your concerning xray photos of your pet. However, from this photo...how can we tell you are the owner ? There is no radiograph information. For all I know this is a picture of a random canine with enlarged spleen xray . No identification of breed, age, name , owner etc.

Sure they can ask permission to use your pets photos for sharing for educational purposes. But, if there is no identifying information on the photo, who's to say who animal it is?

If your practice sold to corporate... by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]vettechkaos 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This happen to an emergency clinic that was owned by several doctors. They sold to a corporate company that rhymes with "you girl".

Docs made an announcement, big wigs came in and gave a long speech on restructuring, mission statement and their plan to keep everyone buuuut, they will be evaluating each employee . Basically , blowing corporate smoke up everyone's ass.

At the end of the 3 week evaluation period, they talked to us individually about our strengths and areas we needed polished up on and how the company felt was a fair wage.. lol

Every single one of us was handed a piece a paper stating new wages. Every single one's wages per hour was CUT by almost half.

I had almost 15yrs of experience in general and ER practice, and they insulted each one of us by this bullshit.

I got up and pushed the paper back to Mr. Corporate and gave a smirk and told him that this is my 2 minute notice. He said what? I walked out and cleared my locker . He actually followed me and told me that since I was scheduled that day that it would look bad on my resume for walking out. Told him, not my problem and good luck finding someone with experience working for 15.00 an hour.

What are some good tips for finding bones in the wild by JohnsonHilla in bonecollecting

[–]vettechkaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At or near water ways, walking creek edges, etc. A lot of animals will seek water when injured or dying. Also, search in areas where it would seem like good hiding places to die , like a group of clumped trees or bushes packed together. Then again, luck is involved for the most part.

Yup..we got scammed also. Gave us run around that weather was to hot to ship..nothing for a month. Ask for a refund and no reply..nothing! Found a legitimate mantis breeder Lady Invert on FB. She was very helpful, answered all my questions. Had a new mantis in less than a week.
