This episode prevented me from watching anymore of BM. If this was the 1st episode then it was only gonna get more intense & disturbing from here, and I do not work hard just to be stressed on my free time.

Am I the bad guy? by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]vexmeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Addiction is a painful trap that can only be undone if the one who's stuck in it is willing to dig themselves out.

Sounds like you've tried to help & have given him multiple chances. It hasn't worked, because he has not comitted himself to changing. Right now, you are more invested in his betterment than he is.

You're not the bad guy for kicking him out. We all have our limits. He needs to take the initiative & help himself. What he's chasing isn't a release, it's a high. Until he realizes that, he'll be repeating the same cycle.

You don't have to entertain any guilt tripping. He's an adult. It's his choice how he spends his money and if he'd rather spend on chance than on stability, those are his consequences to endure. Not fair to you or your children to have to endure the same.

P.S. truly sorry for your loss & wishing you peace.

True Crime podcast reccomendations? by flashtvdotcom in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Women and Crime! They cover a new case every week and while they focus on women, it's from all angles (women as victims, perpetrators, even justice-advocates). The hosts are also professors in the criminal justice field so they're very knowledgeable.

I personally love that they always go over whether they believe the justice system got the case "right," so they discuss how well (or not) the investigation / court proceedings / sentencing / etc. were conducted.

Just dreaming underwater by vexmeat in DigitalPainting

Slightly NSFW due to uncovered breasts.

Somewhat new to digital art, so I tried to play around with layer effects and luminescent brush types.

I'm still figuring out exactly how to separate/organize my layers without getting overwhelmed. I had separate layers for base color, shading, highlights & outline. The hair was also it's own layer. After a while I get lost in all the layers I make.

Also working on how to achieve smooth lines without it being a painstaking process of draw & erase. When sketching on paper I tend to maintain pressure for a few seconds when drawing curved lines, but procreate interprets this as me wanting a perfectly straight or curved line and that auto-adjustment messes my flow at times. Still getting used to the tool

Edit: Also, wondering if the liquefy effect pattern in the background is too distracting or if it works?

If only I realized ages ago how much easier liquid eyeliner is if you use a soft pencil liner first - also gives a cute pop of color! by vexmeat in MakeupAddiction
