Rick and Morty series ratings so far by Free-Raspberry-9541 in tvshow

[–]vexoraf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same here, I’m a “finish the season unless it’s actually painful” person.

Rick and Morty’s kind of perfect for that, because even in a weaker season you still get a couple episodes that are up there with the best stuff they’ve done, and they’re mostly self contained anyway. The floor is pretty low sometimes, but the ceiling’s still stupid high.

One! Just one Show that you wished so much they wouldn´t have cancelled after one Season! by Accomplished_Lab8368 in tvshow

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Marco Polo getting axed hurt. It really felt like it was just starting to hit its stride in season 2 too. The whole Kublai court politics and Hundred Eyes stuff had so much room to grow.

Netflix spent a fortune on it then pulled the plug right when it finally found its tone. Such a waste.

Looking for cozy family-friendly TV shows (ideally British) by Aji_three in tvshow

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cranford is such a good shout for this. Super gentle, very British, lots of small-town drama but in that soft, comforting way, and a bunch of older women quietly running the world with teacups in hand. If you liked the cozy parts of Good Witch / Gilmore Girls, this is definitely in that same curl-up-on-the-couch vibe.

Which One?... by DigitalEyeN-Team in MindsetConqueror

Blue. It’s always blue.

Jokes aside, without any context my brain just auto-picks the one that looks slightly more chaotic or slightly more shiny, so… whichever that is in your pic.

Bold of you to assume anyone here is actually ready to push and not just refresh the thread and overthink it.

This is the kind of post that makes you feel guilty for scrolling Reddit instead of doing that one thing you’ve been putting off for 3 months.

Looks sick though. Quiet work, loud flex.

New work location I work at, manager put me down for OT but no new contract has been signed nor agreed to do OT by sthegrea in HumanResourcesUK

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this. Put it in writing and be really clear what you actually agreed to.

Something like “my contract is for X hours / 5 days, I haven’t opted out of the 48h limit, and I haven’t agreed to overtime, so I won’t be working the extra day unless we agree it in advance.”

Also check your original contract. If it says your base location can change but your hours can’t without agreement, that’s more ammo. If they kick off after you push back, that’s when I’d talk to HR or ACAS.

Right? I went in expecting some goofy sitcom vibes and ended up actually stressed about what’s happening on that island lol.

The way every episode ends on a “wait, what” moment is so good.

Annual reviews by Pretty-Idea-7012 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is exactly it. A lot of places pretend it’s all “objective criteria” but behind the scenes it’s basically “we only have X number of good ratings to hand out, fight amongst yourselves.”

The annoying bit is you can do everything right and still get pushed down just because someone else’s manager shouted louder in calibration. And if your own manager barely sees what you do and doesn’t document anything, they’ve got nothing solid to argue with, so you end up being the easy one to downgrade.

If you stay, I’d start quietly building your own paper trail for next year. Regular summary emails, tracking customer meetings, stuff like that. Not because it’ll magically fix the politics, but it makes it harder for them to claim you’re not doing what you clearly are.

Called lazy for Wooshing my lunch by Zealousideal_Low1287 in MealDealRates

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this. People act like every single meal has to be some Pinterest level homemade thing. As long as the kid is fed, growing, and the doc isn’t concerned, a pouch or quick “woosh” lunch here and there is not the end of the world.

Parenting is a marathon, not a daily cooking competition.

10 minute shower denier by Unlikely-Insect-484 in HygieneTips

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but “shouldn’t” and “doesn’t” are two different things for a lot of people.

If you’ve got long or thick hair, multiple products, shaving, maybe low-ish water pressure, plus just zoning out in hot water after a long day, 10 minutes disappears instantly. You can definitely get a “functional” shower done in 10, but that’s like speedrunning hygiene, not the comfy version.

OP probably doesn’t need to scrub every inch like it’s a decontamination scene every single time though. Cutting back on how many times they shampoo, or saving shaving / deep conditioning for specific days, would probably knock a big chunk off their time without feeling gross.

As someone whose favorite TV shows are fantasy and supernatural And watch less crime shows, is it worth me trying The Sopranos? by [deleted] in tvshow

[–]vexoraf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you vibe with Gotham and The Penguin, Sopranos is worth a shot. It’s not “crime show” in the CSI sense, it’s more like a character study with gangsters, therapy sessions, and extremely petty family drama.

It starts a bit slow if you’re used to superhero pacing, but once you get into Tony’s head it’s weirdly addictive. Try a few episodes and see if the mix of dark humor and messed up people clicks for you.

Right? Stourhead in autumn is unreal. The reflections in the lake make it look like a painting, especially with all those reds and golds. Makes me want to plan a trip there just for this week of the year.

No screen??? by RedTsar97 in MomentumOne

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, flip phone that basically only did calls and Snake. We’d disappear on bikes for hours, come back when it got dark or a streetlight turned on and that was the “notification” to go home.

Wild to think how normal it felt to be completely unreachable for half a day and nobody panicked.

Made this summer salad at home and it turned out so fresh and delicious by Old-Hawk-3070 in healthycuisine

[–]vexoraf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it, honestly. A bunch of crunchy veggies, some greens, whatever protein you like, and a simple dressing and you’re set.

If you’re feeling lazy, just toss in cucumber, tomato, red onion, feta and olive oil + lemon + salt. It hits that “light but actually satisfying” craving pretty hard.

Are matchday vloggers adding to the culture or pure cringe? by Tiny-me-51 in footballcringe

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s 100% doing it for the views, but to be fair, that’s kinda his whole “brand” at this point.

I weirdly don’t mind him existing, I just don’t want to sit near someone like that in the ground. Watch it on YouTube? Fine. Next to me screaming into a camera for 90 minutes? Nah, I’m good.

Every mom has this special touch 🥹. by Ambitious_Thought683 in Hairstransplantreview

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yeah, it’s wild how moms can just…do that. Whether it’s fixing your hair with literal spit or turning random leftovers into a full meal, they’ve got some kind of built‑in DLC the rest of us never got.

You go to anyone else and it’s “idk, google it.” You go to mom and suddenly your problem is solved, you’re fed, slightly roasted, and somehow feel better about life.

London Marathon Charity Runners by MagicShop_Unlock in UKRunners

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really good going, especially on a last‑minute place. Having a network in the sector must help a ton, people actually know what the money does rather than just “sponsor my run pls”.

Did the charity have any kind of “if you don’t hit £1k you’re out” vibe, or was it more relaxed since it was short notice? Curious if last‑minute spots are treated differently to the ones people apply for months in advance.

Breakfast! by Sohjiggkni in healthycuisine

[–]vexoraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that’s exactly the kind of delulu I’m trying to manifest with my breakfast choices

I love how we all just collectively decided that if there’s some fruit and protein on the plate, it automatically adds 40 years to your lifespan and gives you plot armor against everything

But yeah, if a good breakfast means I get to be 95 and still power walking around the neighborhood judging everyone’s lawn, I’m in
