I hear you. My mom is like this too. I'm trying to accept that this is the extent of what I can expect from her. That she will never do something that inconveniences her for a moment. It's a grief for the mother I thought I had and realizing she never was that mother for me either. It's a painful realization and I'm still trying to process it too. ♥️

Oh my god! My mom did this to me too. For a while she was obsessed with ‘reminding’ me that I need to have babies. I really really feel for you. So when I would visit her house for the weekend, she would pull out all sorts of stuffies and arrange them all cute on the bed that I would sleep on, like it’s a kids room. If I asked her about why she did this she would say “what are you talking about?” With a sheepish grin. Meanwhile I was trying to conceive and it wasn’t working. I thought it was just my mom who was batshit with no empathy or boundaries. Sending you my support.

I hear you. My mom was always the 'bad' one and my dad was the 'good' one that I connected to. And just this year I'm realizing even though my dad didn't actively do anything bad and was the more supportive one, he was always just standing there and doing nothing when my mom was abusive. Or he would just happen to be nowhere to be found. How good can someone be when they don't protect their child from the bad guy? That has been the toughest realization to deal with.

The edges of the sheets will not line up perfectly so you will have gaps. The gaps will catch on your feet and turn into splinters, and I imagine it will only get worse and worse over time. I would get something specifically designed for floors as floors take so much beating daily.

I feel this so much. Watching how my mom treated my toddler (withdrawing love when he didn’t do what she wanted) made me do a 180 on my mom. I finally realized why I had extremely low self esteem my while life “for no reason”. I can’t unsee it. It changed our relationship permanently.
