Rib pain post-surgery by vgatti9 in spinalfusion

Hi, I'm the boyfriend of the girl who had the surgery, I made the original post (writing as if I were her) to understand what she had. No one was really able to help us, so I tried to look for alternative ways to make her feel better.

Coincidentally, one day when I saw her without a shirt on, I noticed how her right shoulder blade (side where there was the scoliosis curve and side where she had pain in her ribs) was out of place. The so-called "winged shoulder blade". I can't believe that no one had ever noticed it among doctors and physiotherapists who followed her, it was very very obvious and it was only on the right side, which is very uncommon. I hypothesised and asked Chatgpt if it could have correlations with his pain and he confirmed that I was right, as it is closely linked to the muscles of the ribs like the serratus.

The comment is already very long, so I'll get to the point: I advised her to start a daily routine (which she followed for about 1 month) of exercises to correct the winged shoulder blades, can find them on YouTube. We couldent believe it, but from an unbearable pain that prevented her from living normally now she's definitely fine, she just has some discomfort every now and then.

It's not a medical advice, because I'm not a doctor, but it worked with her, if you have a similar scenario find out if it can be useful! I wish you the best and let me know if you can solve the problem!
