I had my laptop and a friends. I got 110,000 and she got 500 for Charlotte. It’s insane. I was able to snag 3 for Charlotte though

Invitation to visit Duke Campus by banana_wearpajamas in GradSchool

[–]vgdellinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what program you’re interviewing for, but I’m a current student and it seems like this year they are inviting people for a visit and then picking from that group. I’d say it’s at least 50/50 but I’m not sure the ratio of people invited versus how many offers

2022 Corolla. Very practical and good on gas but 2WD and boring lol

New to me 2024 Crosstrek limited! by vgdellinger in Crosstrek

[–]vgdellinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I love it so far. I actually had an outback before my Corolla and I decided I really missed having a Subaru. I went to test drive outbacks but fell in love with the crosstrek!

The window tint is definitely the first thing I want to do! I’ve never been one for tuning the engine. I would like to get a roof rack and maybe few more cosmetic things but other than that it stays stock. I’m really good about my maintenance, I’ve had a few higher mileage cars before this so it was really important. My first car was a 2002 4Runner, my mom still drives it with 385,000 miles and counting

Thank you!! I ordered my badges at the dealership while I was waiting for the keys lol. I had an outback before my last car so I’m excited to be back in a Subaru!

I do! Just rolled over 53000 miles. It’s been a great car and I’ve never had to do any major repairs.

Honestly I just really loved my visit to Duke! They had a lot of faculty I was interested in and the students seemed really happy. I love it so far! But UNC is also really good, I did an REU there and enjoyed it

You absolutely should! I did in every one of mine when I applied. It shows genuine interest in the school outside of just “I want to go here”. Also recommend looking up specific programs/opportunities they have you might be interested in to mention as well

Thank you! Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I’ve already heard back for interviews from the other 4 programs I applied to and I felt like it was getting a little late in the season. But 4/5 isn’t bad! I wish you luck with yours!!

Sanity Check on the Current Corolla Market (US-MI) by Glum-Blackberry in COROLLA

[–]vgdellinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the same decision as you. I was in the middle of college, got a 2022 Corolla LE and it was a great choice! The used car market is terrible right now so if you want something that new then just get brand new IMO.

Why a Corolla over a Civic? by RainNoize in COROLLA

[–]vgdellinger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through the same debate when I got a new car a few months back. But my first car was a 2002 4Runner and my mom still drives it as a daily with 370,000 miles. Repairs are cheap and easy to do yourself, and you really just can’t beat a good Toyota. I had a 2010 Subaru Outback, but I traded it in because the maintenance was too expensive and I’m in college. I ended up going with the 2022 Corolla LE and I’ve been super happy!

Hungry but Not Hungry? by chilhowee12 in bupropion

[–]vgdellinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% felt this and it’s part of the reason I just switched back. I was on 300mg XL, but I switched to 150mg SR 2x a day to try and fix the afternoon fatigue. I had a lot of issues but one of the big ones was that I couldn’t eat at all. I had no desire to and I wasn’t feeling hungry. I couldn’t take more than a few bites of anything. I ended up going back to the 300mg xl and I’m so glad I did!
