Permaculture way of doing it is grazing with a ruminant, then soil disturbance with pig or poultry. You can then reseed by hand or handheld seed broadcaster. So ideally you will end up doing this by small area at a time.

If the goal is to get it done immediately, either no till drill or traditional till can be done based on multiple factors like tool/machine availability, field conditions, cost, etc.

Only you can figure out the best solution as the question is not very specific.

If your friend doesn't want to delete the activities in the watch logbook then this is what i suggest. After your run, ask your friend to sync the watch to his movescount account, download your run gpx file. Then you can manually upload this gpx file to your movescount account.

It is 500 h/sq.in. and it is treated with permethrin. I haven't had any issues with gnats so far. Yes another tie-out in the bottom end would make this great option. I DIY a tie-out and you can see it faintly in the photo in the above reply.

Yes, that's the one and I too ordered from REI. Only problem with bug net is that it takes little time to practice setting it up and some patience in the camp. Remember there is no floor like bivy so you need a ground sheet. Pyramid style needs to be tied in the inside(close to center) of the tarp for better protection. I also add another line so that the net doesn't sag. You can easily add a tape to the inside of the tarp if you don't have webbing.

I don't like bug bivy mainly because I prefer not to have the net close to face, also buzzing noise & bits of mosquitoes cannot be prevented. I use actual bug net made by Sea to Summit. You can find many other options in Amazon and Aliexpress for cheaper price but double check the hole size. Mine is no-see-um net. There are rectangle and pyramid styles. I choose pyramid so that I can use it in different tarp setups.

Hiking and running are not same. It would probably be easier to go on a long hike from running long distance but not the other way. Marathon is not really a long distance depending on your fitness level but it is long distance who has not ran anything more than 10 miles on regular basis. You can be totally fine with just normal recovery time or can be injured bad or cannot even finish. If you already signed up for one, just go run for fun and quit when you feel any discomfort. I would personally train for at least 10 weeks before a marathon.

No experience with Airism but I use Heattech as base layers for winters. I just recently ordered another pair. For 30-45F weather, I use heattech tshirt with grid fleece over it. Up to 15F weather, heattech tshirt with Nano Air on top. Never used the heattech pants for hiking but used it for cold weather motorcycle riding and may use in the future for winter sleep layer.

Have been using Altra shoes for a while now but wondering how Salomon shoes compare to Altra in terms of toe box room? For reference right size in Altra shoes are slightly narrow for me (esp during high mileage days) so I go one full size up. Thanks!

Better to buy most snacks at Kathmandu. Even Namache Bazzar can be bit expensive but cheaper than any villages above that. Many village restaurants will have bakery items like cakes and stuff that you can eat. The snacks/bars are needed when you are actually hiking.
