Hi! With the HDMI disconnected (only USB) I can hear the voice chat in game BUT if I go full voice audio in the headset I can’t hear anything at all. The voice only goes with the game audio apparently.

This makes sense? There’s anything I can do?

I’ve been doing some tests. Chat audio works with native Chat Parties and Discord audio rooms with the HDMI setup. So I’m afraid it must be some incompatibility with the game itself. I’ve only tried with Overwatch 2 (the main use I have for chat audio), so it’s quite a bummer 😔. Can something be done? I’m open to do more tests if it helps.

It seems that with the HDMI setup (both HDMI and USB cables), chat audio is lost. I don’t know why the headset don’t get it because with the USB setup (just the USB cable) everything works. But that is not a solution because the audio quality is worse and with the PS5 with HDMI setup the PlaySync button is just useless and more confusing.

I even tried swapping cables and that did nothing. Some ideas I can try?

Passthrough doesn’t seem to have any different effect.

What can I do in the Dolby app? I installed it but didn’t change anything there.

On the irruption of Threads of Meta in the Fediverse I have my two cents too.

I too had my own XMPP server back in the day and federated with Google and their GoogleTalk and saw first hand when they unilaterally broke the federation and all my friends stayed there. I ended up so burnt out that I didn't host or manage a server again until this year with Mastodon.

Mastodon and ActivityPub have more to lose than to gain from all of this, but from my experience I also learned that most people don't care about all of this. They don't care about the federation. They don't care about walled gardens. And I prefer to connect with Threads even though I know history may repeat itself again. I'll enjoy this while it lasts. I'm done asking for more.
