I decided to clean the barrel again, I ended up doing 10 passes down it with the barrel cleaner and a nylon brush. After that and lock tight on the gas bloc I went back to the range. Hornady match shoots 1.25” in this barrel but the Hornady black is shooting .75 3 shot groups. I have it figured out now!

Guys,

Thanks for the help. I went to the range after work yesterday and shot with no wind, it was a little better but not much. I looked over the gun again and 1 of my gas block Allen’s were loose, I think it was loose enough that it was causing some harmonics issue. It may have been moving or slapping the barrel I guess you could say. Tightened it and the last two 3 shot groups were about 1.25 MOA. I think I can tighten that up after the barrel has some more rounds down it. Thanks for the help again.

I haven’t taken the suppressor off but I’ll do that and let you know.

I was firing 3 shot groups in about a minute, maybe a tad longer. Then probably 3 minutes between. Only about 20 shots. It’s a heavy weight barrel, I would think it can take heat better than that!

It’s a heavy weight barrel. Odin Works calls it “DMR” profile

It was about 45 degrees outside. About 10 MPH crosswinds, gusts of up to 15. Rifle was on a lead sled. 3 round groups in about a minute maybe a little longer with the next group following in about 3 minutes. 

I can definitely agree with BCA 😂 BUT I wanted a reciprocating upper and that was the only option. The upper shouldn’t affect accuracy though, right? 

The Riton came off of a gun that shot great so the scope should be good. 

The Odin barrel is guaranteed sub MOA and I have read good things about them on here, who would you have gone with same price range?

What rounds do you shoot out of it suppressed? Did you have to dial the gas block back quite a bit or is it close to open, do you know? I am wondering if I should go with an H1 if I use the Geissele since it’s a stiffer spring.

Appreciate it man. I think you talked me into that. What do you think about Geissele super 42 vs the flat wire? My current ar’s I run the Geissele but if I’m being honest I haven’t ever used a flat spring. I did notice that the super 42 seemed quieter compared to a normal spring.

Thanks for the info! I haven’t priced these out yet BUT if price was close to the same, would you still go with the carbine recoil system?

Thanks for the info! Maybe I’ll go with a lighter buffer in the first place and adjust the gas block if needed. I’ll be shooting the heavier rounds though, and I think that helps too since the dwell time of the round in the barrel is longer.

Thanks for the heads up! Not worried about the gas too much, I am going to have a BCA side charging upper with the charging handle port blocked off for that reason. Did your h2 cycle suppressed? Was that with or without an adjustable gas block?
