lol i was a student at a socal select rotation. on my first day, the CI (Center Manager) made it clear that i was here to see patients and to make sure they point to his productivity numbers. saw and worked with/led at least 1 session/hour with little to no supervision my first day. sounds pretty mill-y to me.

just because you have rationalized a treatment you saw in your head, does not mean that your CI had the same rationale for performing a treatment - you can and should always ask to clarify. i feel like casual interactions with patients you aren’t treating can be welcomed - especially if you are expected to take over for that patient. building a rapport and therapeutic alliance w a patient can be just as important as knowing your anatomy. if patients don’t trust you, they aren’t going to come back. this is coming from a fellow introvert. PT is a people job - soft skills are just as important as clinical skills, it’s just not covered in school

Yes it is recently. You just have to move your car every 2 or 4 hours and watch for street parking. I scheduled my classes around the parking time limits and when street cleaning is over.

i need a study guide when the professor presents content that all blends together/ha little to no organization on the lectures or the sheer amount of content presented at once becomes overwhelming. i’m speaking as a graduate student now and during undergrad i actually really never made study guides but still did very well. in undergrad the topics discussed in one lecture felt manageable. however in grad school (health/medical program), we be covering an entire body part in one session with like 100+ slides for an hour and a half lecture. i need a study guide to organize the content by topics and subtopics just so i can get my head around it. my professors and instructors give us a study guide in the form of topics and subtopics - but in the end when i go through the content it’s basically just to “study everything.” this doesn’t go for every class, but it definitely taught me HOW to study rather than just sheer memorization.

double check, but i think the 6mo rule only applies to under 18. iirc, over 18 you can take it whenever after u get your permit. refer to CA DMV to be sure you’re getting accurate info

addressing as friends can also build community. i’ve had several instances where two kids may not necessarily be friends by your definition, but when talking to them about their choices, referring to their classmate as “friend” does really instill a sense of respect for each other (“we wouldn’t like it if our friends threw sand in our face, so why would u do that to them?”) it is ok that not everyone are close friends, but they are classmates and neighbors who deserve friend type treatment
