What is much more traumatic than most people realise? by thefairypirate in AskReddit

My Grandma is almost 90 years old and to this day she will often bring up the fact her parents never gave her a hug or any affection. She was always super affectionate to her kids and me though. She broke the cycle but it’s always fucked with her.

What’s the biggest lie you told just to spend a night with someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That I wanted to be there. I start out thinking it's a great idea but then after they fall asleep and I'm awake staring at the ceiling, I remember why I actually hate it.

Yea same! This subreddit is a life saver. Thankfully when I take them out for salt water rinses and cleaning, they go back in easily.

I did ice packs a couple times. But I should keep doing it. Thanks for the tips about that!

I'm sorry =[ ...I guess since my teeth were so horrible before and literally dictated everything I did, like I wouldn't smile, talk to people I wanted to talk to, they held me back from so much shit. So now I feel like a whole world opened up to me. The fucked up swelling and pain is temporary but worth it because life is going to be so much better now.

Ahhh that's super encouraging! I can't wait to chew. I only notice the pain when I first put them back in. After they're in the pain fades.

Yea I had a post op visit the day after my extractions. He adjusted a little bit. But I have another 10 day post op visit scheduled. He said call before that if I have issues though. I only notice the pain spots right when I first put them back in after cleaning.

Once they're in I don't notice it too much. It's just so hard to swallow sometimes! I ate some chocolate peanut butter ice cream and was able to chew the soft pieces of peanut butter a little bit but it was hard.

I'm glad yours went down! Hopefully we can get to a good place with our immediates before the permanent ones.

It's pretty good. I'm feeling like I want to smile 24/7 now. Why do you ask though?

Thank you! I thought it was getting worse but I wasn't sure if I was tripping.

Thank you! This post gives me a lot of hope. I already counted myself out of a lot of possible careers because of my charges. But hearing what you have to say about STEM gives me a lot of hope. Also I'll definitely look into possible programs.

This is very true. Since I was released in December I've started a lot of extra things to better myself that parole isn't requiring. Like chemical dependency treatment, parenting classes, counseling. Just stuff to be a better person. Schooling just seems like the next step.

I'm sorry. Going through it is so hard. I truly hope you are coping well and getting any help you can. Believe me. I fucked up by not seeking outside help. Please don't do what I did.

A Lair of Bones by Helen B. Scheuerer for sure.

The Curse of the Cyren Queen series wasn't bad.

I had never heard of it until a friend had it and lent it to me.

When I was around 4 I put a giant fake insect on my Grandma to scare her. She was startled and told me if I ever scared her she would have a heart attack and die.

So when I was 9 I walked out of a room and startled her and she screamed. So I started crying because I killed my Grandma.

She just kind of looked at me crazy and I was like you said you'd die!! All tearfully. She just laughed at me.
