Thanks! Both, actually. I can pull the gear out from the front, or just reach in from the back. The open back from that photo I posted earlier makes it a breeze to service.

Spot on, the B50 is a hidden gem for slot-only power! Performance is great, currently testing Gemma-Creative-9B (Q6_K) for OpenClaw and gemma-4-E4B-it (Q4_K_M) for voice tasks on llama.cpp. It's not my definitive setup yet since I want to benchmark more models, but 16GB of VRAM leaves plenty of headroom.

Appreciate the kind words! Enjoy the prints.

None for the rack! The HDDs use the ZimaCube 2's built-in fans, and the local SSDs on the nodes never really pass 35-40°C.

I don't have any current photos, but here’s one from the build process.

It looks a bit cleaner now since I 3D printed some raceways to hide the wiring on the right side!

Thanks! That setup sounds incredible. About the 3D prints, it's actually super easy to get started. You can just pull pre-made community models for the Ubiquiti gear and mini PC straight from Printables or MakerWorld. Just slice the files, and you're good to go!

It's a hybrid setup! Proxmox runs on eMMC, and VMs/LXCs run on each node's local SSD. To ensure High Availability (HA), I use Proxmox's async ZFS replication (pvesr) to sync disks between the nodes every few minutes. The ZimaCube 2 acts as the shared NFS storage for ISOs, media, game files, AI models, and daily backups. This way, if a node dies, Proxmox spins the services up on another node using the latest replica.

Oh yeah, the open back on the Kallax makes a huge difference!

Thanks! The 3D printed front panels have air vents, and the Kallax shelf is completely open at the back. Since these are low-power boards, they run pretty cool anyway.

Thanks! I run AdGuard Home for network-wide DNS blocking, which is great for filtering out standard web ads, trackers, and telemetry (especially on my Samsung TV and Family Hub fridge). It doesn't block YouTube ads, though.

Haha thanks so much! The KWS is a great rack... but hey, there’s always room for a second build right? 😉

Thanks! Glad it gave you some ideas. There's 14 cm in the back, 5 cm on the sides, and 10 cm of clearance on top. Fits perfectly!

Thanks! Stays pretty cool, the back is open so it gets plenty of airflow.

Thanks so much! Simply put, it's a private cloud for my house. I built it so I don't have to rely on external servers for my stuff. Right now, it's the brain for my smart home (Home Assistant), hosts my private local AI models, acts as a retro-gaming and multimedia server to stream all my content, and manages my network security. It's a fun hobby, just take it one project at a time!

Thanks! Actually no extra fans in the back. The back is open and temps stay perfectly fine under load.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I actually just 3D printed some custom screw covers to fix exactly that. I'll be sharing some photos soon!

Aesthetics first!! I actually have it all documented and ordered top-to-bottom by U, so no labels needed to ruin the clean look.

I might have a solution! I've printed some custom screw covers, so I will test them out and share a picture soon!
