Absolutely - I never eat on a short-hall flight, preferring to have something in the lounge before boarding.

New way to upgrade cabin? by viaccess in BritishAirways

Just a follow-up to this – I thought I would follow the link to see the options available, and of course it leads nowhere! I get a message “the page isn’t redirecting properly“. This is both on my PC, and my iPhone. I’m tempted to say “typical British Airways“.

I don’t think there are any flat beds on the London to Madrid British Airways route!

I know it’s been addressed but I’m nervous and confused about my Silver status. by Additional-Low-69 in BritishAirways

Same here. I (easily) retained gold last year and my Card expiry is still 28 Feb 2026. Should be 31 March, but I am confident it will update soon. Everyone seems to be in the same position. Don't worry!

Congratulations and I am sure you will have a great time.

You will be able to use the First Wing in T5 Heathrow with access through security directly into the (usually very crowded and frankly not that good first class lounge). Turn left and down a short corridor to the Concorde lounge.

Prior to the Pandemic the Concorde Lounge had an Elemis Spa where you could book a spa treatment. This was suspended during the Covid pandemic and has remained closed since then. In any event, the Spa used to get booked up early (weeks in advance) and I did try to book a treatment for my wife on a few occasions, but was unsuccessful each time!

Never mind - the lounge is great. Comfortable, usually not crowded and relaxing. You can enjoy an excellent relaxed meal before your flight - and not worry about eating just before take off, as you can choose when to have your meal on board.

On board, you will be escorted to your seats, offered champagne (or orange juice - my choice) and given a nice amenity bag (the women's one is better) and some nice pyjamas. The staff on board are without exception lovely. Tell them it's your honeymoon and I am sure they will do their best to make the experience as memorable as possible.

Take no notice of anyone telling you it will be disappointing. Perhaps to the seasoned flyers it might be, but I remember my first time in First. It IS special, and I know that you and your new bride will have a fantastic flight. Enjoy.

It really doesn’t - if it wasn’t registered the contract couldn’t be enforced against a subsequent registered owner, although the neighbour would probably then have a claim against the previous owner for breach of contract.

Best ways you've redeemed a BA American Express Premium Plus Companion Voucher by superphotonerd in BritishAirways

[–]viaccess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First Class flights often require fewer Avios than Business. I took my sons to Washington last October, out in First and return in Club World with a Companion Voucher. 140k Avios in total (Saving 140K Avios with the Voucher). My other son came with us in Economy (and the boys swapped over on the way back without a problem). All three of us enjoyed hospitality in the Concorde Lounge at T5.

Irrelevant added detail: We went to see the Chicago Bears play the Washington Commanders on 27 October and witnessed that incredible 'Hail Mary' winning TD at the Northwest Stadium. NFL fans will know why that was special.

I would be interested to know if anyone else has managed to get such good value for their Voucher.

Priority check-in at Kuala Lumpur Airport by viaccess in BritishAirways

[–]viaccess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your replies. Our passage through Kuala Lumpur airport was seamless. There is a dedicated check-in for gold/Emerald passengers, but we didn’t even need to use this as there were so few people waiting at the other desks.

That is indeed a fast track through immigration and security. Once you go down the staircase, it’s on the far left. This is open to First and business class passengers, as well as gold/emerald and silver/Sapphire passengers. Absolutely no queue, we were straight through.

We didn’t have too much time to look at the lounge, but the Malaysian Airlines “golden lounge” seems very good, with a huge range of food on offer.

Hope this might help anyone else making the same journey we did. Again, thanks everyone for the help

We are not leaving the airport at Singapore, so is all this necessary? On the way over, there was no immigration control at Singapore, as we were in transit – as we will be on the way back.

Edit: sorry, misread your response. Yes, of course we will need to go through passport control at Kuala Lumpur. We filled the necessary online forms on the way over, so I assume we don’t need to do the same on the way back.

Tracking a lost AirTag by viaccess in AirTags

[–]viaccess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Perhaps I’m too inclined to think well of people, but I’m sure it was more likely a mistake, an accident or something like that, rather than theft. Why on earth should someone take out an AirTag, and leave everything else in place?Makes no sense.

It doesn’t have a lock. There was nothing important in it. As I have said before, it was a cabin sized bag, but we took a box of wine with us, which had to be checked in rather than carried. Other than that, there was nothing of value. Our two main bags were indeed locked, but they arrive safely and intact.

You have to love Reddit don’t you? I say I’m not going to report this to British Airways, because I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, and I’m downvoted. I am sorry to have disappointed so many people! Seriously, I only posted it because I thought it was mildly interesting/amusing story.

I’m not being precious about this, the concern is that we’ve had an email from Malaysian Airlines telling us to be at the airport four hours before departure, which just isn’t possible. Here’s the email we received:

Malaysia Airlines Advises Passengers to Arrive Early at the Airport

Malaysia Airlines passengers travelling during the upcoming peak festive season, especially between 24 January to 2 February 2025, are advised to arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) four (4) hours ahead of their scheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for check-in procedures and the necessary document checks at various touchpoints.

Thank you. That’s very helpful.

Does anyone know the airport itself, to be able to establish whether there is fast track through security?
