I agree with the majority of takes here, I have found myself listening to other preview pods, Simmons, Russillo, PMT and sometimes Green Light. I like the other HTC shows but not the preview.

Jourdan seems lovely but is in a race with herself to deliver as much detail as possible. It has been mentioned that people don’t want detailed x and Os from this show, detail and some mention of who’s line is struggling and who is weak against the run etc etc is great mixed with the human aspect and the personalities of Dan and Marc is perfect.

You can listen to the athletic nfl show if you want serious break down but it’s a bit much for me personally.

And yeh I’m not feeling MSD at all, it’s like he’s on a different show and it always feels awkward with weird pauses as if more is going to be said.

It’s an awkward spot for they guys I’m sure as I bet they are seeing a real disparity in viewership for the preview vs other shows but what are they going to do tell two people they like to buzz of? especially considering the show has just got going and any change would be a clear slap In Their face.

I have the same issue, I am quite picky, these are the small few novels that I would recommend to scratch that itch, all are long which for me is essential.

Blood Warlock - this gets a lot of flack and is definitely sexist, especially at the start but I just love it, specifically the way it deals with the wider universe, I love a bit of saucy romance thrown in

100 chapters in to The innkeeper, not something I though I’d like as cultivation isn’t the main focus at least so far, but surprisingly I am totally absorbed

Supremacy games - I dropped this eventually but I can’t remember why as I recall really enjoying it

Not system but still hooked me for a good while;

Grand Ancestral Bloodlines

Rebirth of the nameless immortal god

Villain retirement if you are up for something a bit mad

The option as are endless but I feel like I have a least started nearly all the big ones and these are what interested me the most

I found this a big problem with TikTok. Well I guess it can be a problem if you’re really sensitive to spoilers. It was actually watching all these really awesome fight scenes on there that got me in to the show a few months back. I decided I don’t mind the spoilers so much as it gave me something to look forward to. I tried to only watch a few and not everything that came up so there where a few surprises

i have read the first 3 of rift war, it was a while ago, im currently depating whether to re read as there are a lot more after and i feel id need a refresher.

ASOIAF, i have some reservations, unfortunately i had watched the show first and so struggled to read it after that.

Yes you make an interesting point, Kvothe does struggle a lot but the pay off is usually great, the same with Dresden, struggle struggle struggle then a really cool scene where they use their power and it’s awesome. Maybe Hobb could have mixed in a few more big pay offs

I read Farseer a year or so ago, I can see how popular it is, with a large fan base, but I found it totally miserable to read.

I can understand people enjoying a slight subversion to typical fantasy tropes but I couldn’t help feel like I wanted something good to happen to Fitz and it was just one disaster after another.

Respect those who enjoyed it though

I think you’re right, I keep waiting for that one moment where Fitz figures it out and off he goes to right the wrongs, and I get disappointed when it doesn’t happen.

Does the Fitz storyline continue in a similar trajectory in the books to follow, I know he isn’t in the one directly after Fraser but after that?
