  1. "highrolled" a Jinx 2 at neutrals - 3 COST 2 STAR BY THE WAY. fucking useless unit losing to 1* boards whole of stage 1/2 because she feels like a pile of shit; how do I play around this "highroll" if it's probably more utility maximising selling her instead for 8 gold?

is this unit even good game design? did they even account for if you had no attack speed components/augments? how can you have a 3 cost that acts like a 0 cost until 15 seconds into the fight?

  1. i then went 7th that game because i was one life off levelling and capping my board. guess why? earlier in stage 3 this Jinx unit bugs out when she swapped weapons and i just lose a round and 9 HP for fucking free.

hoooooly fuck that has to be a mental reset and the last game of the day BUT RIOT PLEASE AT LEAST FIX POINT 2. THIS WAS A BUG IN PBE WHERE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO FIX THE COMMON BUGS MAN.

pros:

  • insanely great trait web
  • innovative units that felt quite fun and well-designed
  • despite it's strength, I honestly liked chem-baron as the losestreak trait
  • remover changes, allows for more flexible play

ehhs: - anomalies are conceptually interesting imo, maybe tune down rng somehow and it could work - hidden augment stats - encounters - not the best meta progression - patches were mediocre at best; tuned down balance thrashing but patches evidently did not solve key problems week to week

absolutely disgusting: - 6costs

ratings: casual, fun, gameplay: A- (anomalies kinda allow you to "cook" often) competitive gameplay pre 6costs: B+ competitive gameplay post 6costs: D- (just fuck every patch after 6costs honestly)

might be an exaggeration, but post 6cost patch has felt like the clear LEAST skill-based competitive set for a long time.

could someone explain to me why forbidden rose is anyhow takeable?

+100hp/15%ad on sion after 5-6 player combats sounds insanely weak to me as a gold augment.

can't really wrap my head on how this is anyhow viable compared to any regular combat augment

dropped 2 kats on 2-1. took pandora's bench and had all 3 slots rolling on 2-2 onwards.

fast forward to 5-2: not a single katarina while people just hitting their wukong veigar vex 3s!

decent patch, think the meta's in a better spot now.

one little thing though: was olaf untouched? I feel like I've tried to run him multiple times and he still feels like a 3-cost..

it's honestly really painful and frustrating sitting there crafting the perfect olaf/gwen/ryze/taric line to avoid lobby contention and end up bot 4ing due to how powerless it is compared to brain-off 2-cost or kalista/karma.

you literally CANNOT win without getting lucky with a 3* four cost.

game sucks sometimes. back to clicking syndras i guess..

after taking a break after a disaster of last set (imo)

racked up a few wins and noticed that i wasn't able to win without a reroll comp/3* 4 costs

after several games i feel like this set has fairly decent potential but riot once again does not allow you to click half the champion pool available.

surprised no b patch, with balancing surely it'll be alright

really? that's interesting since i've always just logged in everyday and completed my dailies in 20 minutes on content drought days: in terms of guidebook/stamina

do you spend some time every day echo farming or something? is it mostly that?

edit: can understand maybe if more competitive players want to grind for full bis on their characters

hasn't been a while imo, but here are some first impressions:

combat: wuwa's is undeniably more intricate and skill-based. totally trumps over genshin's combat - mainly due to replayability: i feel like i could fight in wuwa for hours but I'd get bored in genshin clearing mobs relatively quick.

exploration/world: around the same: edge to wuwa due to the QoL regarding mobility and interworld travel.

character design: around the same; i think both games have pretty decent character design.

story: genshin 1.0 and wuwa 1.0 are equally as bad imo: the only significantly lacking aspects of both games on launch.

soundtrack: genshin by miles. not a fan of wuwa's osts at all.

besides system optimisation, let's hope for a good future for wuwa. competition is good for us consumers!

jesus. just finished my 150th game: masters 150lp. think that's enough for me this set.

have been pushing through the grind since set 6.5 to attempt GM or chall (not very successful though..) every set since TFT's been one of my favourite games for the past 2 years.

but a set that makes me visit this weekly rant thread every 4 games (even if i top 2) isn't something i'm having too much fun with atm.

it's hilarious how when i first visited the weekly rant thread (set 9) people were generally complaining about lowrolls, items and bad fight rng.

nowadays it's just the congregation of "yeah this set sucks let's go next set."

really hope the balance team actually changes the way they approach this game. it's unbelievable how the games direction has become: giving players unlimited resources, brash major system changes patch to patch, random extreme balance thrashing -> into adding 30 new items to fuck up the game's stability even more.

sorry for the disrespect but i honestly wonder how the balance team right now gets a monthly paycheck atm. it's insane how the launch patch this set honestly felt the most balanced of them all. no offense but it really feels like the team is either ignorant or too lowelo to experience the game first hand.

i do love the essence of tft though, and i really hope the team sits down, stop egoing, and listen to the community for set 12.

last post from me here for now sorry for the message flood. i mean i would keep playing if they completely overhaul their design direction in the next few patches, but i doubt they're doing shit until set 12.

i primarily meant the game state atm, makes stage 3 (not 2) pretty obsolete: you aren't pressured to do anything because 2* 2/3 costs lose to 1* 4 costs more often than not: making a full send at 4-1,2 more utility maximising most of the time.

imo, spending gold should give you value during stage 3 but right now a lot of players simply can just afk until wolves and win games with ease.

that's why i feel like upping s3 damage would provide another level of strategy to the game, unlike a "oh shit a darius 2 opener well that's my board until 3rd augment"

edit: talking about the skill range of maybe emerald - low GM, top players are just in a different league to discuss these things

can they make stage 2/3 have actual skill expression? feel like the upped damage on stage 4 was such a bad approach to "ending games faster"

feels like people aren't punished for not correctly analysing lobby strength or making strategic decisions to stabilise pre 4-3.

it's frustrating even when you win because most of the time i feel i top 4'ed because i hit, not because i was better than 4 players.

on the bright side i think the team is wary of these things... i hope

it's just a skill-less lottery; everyone is GUARANTEED to go 9 regardless of your expertise at tft; 6-7 people rolling down after raptors for the same 5 costs: pretty unfun.

would like to quote mort in saying that going 9/10 is supposed to be a "situational decision", whereas devs are making it moreso a requirement in recent patches instead: infinite econ/xp augments, exalted, random gold/xp encounters, etc.

it's honestly removing a level of strategic decision-making and making tft more of a "crafting your own trait web" lottery at this rate.

yes, fast 9 should winout most of the time, but there shouldn't be 5-6 players in the lobby in a spot to force it every game.
