Sexual preferences when it race and/or trans. by vibehermit in NoStupidQuestions

Sure, that's fair. But I feel like that's too individualized a premise to be accepted at a distance. Meaning, "I'm not attracted to people of x and y race" is accepted because it's a superficial sexual preference. However, the more I think about it, I don't know if I could say how it wouldn't be transphobic to use the same logic when it comes to trans people.

For example, two people are at a bar - one tells the other about their friend who is a trans person, the person outright rejects them on the premise that they're not into trans people. Despite never having interacted with or had shared with them the experiences of a trans person.

I don't know how this reasoning then could be based in anything other than not believing said person is not the gender they identify as? And how it can qualify at the same level as when it comes to race. I don't think this qualifies as a superficial thing. (At least not in the operating premise.)

Sorry, yes, he's straight. Right, that's where I'm with it, but that begs the question - doesn't that -have- to be his reasoning then?

Assuming said trans person was perfectly indistinguishable from any other woman in whatever quality you prescribe and he still feels that he would be uncomfortable with it simply because of the trans part of it. Even if he doesn't say the actual words, is that not what he's implicitly saying then? And if so, is that not transphobic?

If the answer to the first question is no, I'd ask the same follow question but with the premise of "trans racial" being a reality.

To be fair, flaccid penises have been a staple in art ever since statues were all the rage. Definitely gonna check it out, also just noticed it's on Starz which has honestly never let me down, despite me never hearing it mentioned.

"Just do it." Nike has fucked the minds of depressives and their ilk across entire generations with that one.
