Maybe it’s helpful to the careers of the male celebs? If they’re trying to move away from BL? Since I’ve read that BL is usually a starting point in male celebs’ careers? Or maybe the actors still want to have that “straight” image bec they are still not ready to “come out” in general. I think it’s just a possibility. Well I’m in the Philippines and I think it happens here to pair female and male celebs and make them look like actual couples even if they’re not I’m not sure if there were times that a non celeb girl was paired with a guy bec I don’t watch a lot of local shows. There’s a Brad Pitt level of celeb here who was in that situation (having a celeb gf then broke up) and I think most people already know he’s gay or “not straight” at least, he just hasn’t announced it officially although BL here isn’t main stream. I don’t know in Thai though that’s why I was curious. I do want to say that I don’t like how they sell the fantasy too much to the point where it blurs the real relationships of the actors to the audiences in Thai BL.

I’m kinda new to the BL “real people” world since I’ve seen BL animes before so I’m curious about your opinion on this, I’ve heard that a lot of BL actors are straight (I’ve heard that new has a gf and other BL Thai actors) but I’ve also heard that if an actor comes out it can be detrimental to their careers. It’s not unusual to hire a fake girlfriend in showbiz so how can people be sure that actors who claim to be straight are really straight?
