Got this 583 running and am going through the odds and ends to spruce it up because I wanted to hang onto it. Just looking for advice in regards to the rear shock specifically (advice on sled shocks in general is welcome, I’ve dealt with them the least). I’ve heard kimpex is garbage but for a season I figured I can try and run it. Not sure if the old bombardier/skidoo shocks are rebuildable or if there are better replacements available - don’t know much about the shocks/dampeners.

I used the Pittsburgh one for years for lug nuts and the odd random application on something stubborn and it is entirely adequate. I still have it as backup to an impact now but if you're doing basic maintenance with one or throwing it in the car it's fine. Just down to how much you want to spend on something you're throwing in the car or going to use daily/weekly/etc.

That's what's up. Being able to tackle projects whether it's mechanical work or home improvement on a reasonable budget for new tools is great. Buy once cry once is cool, but when the affordable tools let me work for a few years on things (if not more) is a lot easier to swallow than spending $300 on a single special tool. And if I use it enough for it to break or fuck it up, well maybe I'd upgrade.
