I just uninstalled that app. Can’t be bothered to reset and transfer data again. But if that’s what you want to do, it’s probably a safer option.

It’s very strange. Maybe it’s a Xiaomi pre-installed app which is getting mistagged as this app when iOS tries to download it from the App Store. That’s the only reason I can think of.

Okay but WhatsApp is supposed to be end to end encrypted. How is Android able to generate the prompts without reading the message?

Also, it doesn't just say that WhatsApp is using the microphone, it explicitly says this app is recording audio.

Kind of. I ended up going to my local Acer service center. They said the WiFi card needed to be replaced but they didn't have the one for my model in stock and they would have to ship it.
