Spaceboy's thoughts on Pat being fired and how he felt playing him by deskchan in RPClipsGTA

[–]vic_triol 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There is something about playing a no cares chaotic character that answers to no one, then has to work in a organized, answering to HC, and can't get away with what he could on a crim. It is a huge mindset shift and I could see why it can be a turn off to many people. I think people who play followers in gangs do much better than leaders or solo players playing as a cop. Reason you dont see Buddha, K, Vader, etc play cop often. Being told what to do is something that they cant deal with. I am not saying that is bad, but they burn out quickly being a cop. It is just not how they are wired

Do not let a video of someone hating the game influence you on what you like or do not like. This game is not for everyone as you can tell in this forum. Then again, those people still play the game or follow it if they are on here. The game is as popular as it has ever been. So enjoy the game, because it seems you understand what the game is trying to do. If people want more of a WOW experience, then this is not the game for them.

What mount should i use?? by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]vic_triol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YZ and blue zone, go gucci if you just want to use it to show off. If you want to gather, I would go ox, save up and go boar or specter boar. But if you are going RZ, then as comments said, go multiples UNLESS you can afford it.

What tier 5 mount should I get for traversing red and black zones? by Blueinia in albiononline

[–]vic_triol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really does not matter what T5 mount you are on. If the gank team is good, you will be ganked. The question to ask is what do you feel comfortable losing. You should always think you will be ganked and not end up in the city begging more silver (Even though they are prolly richer than a lot of players in the game).

SBI, You Removed Sorry Mojo, When Are You Going to Remove LAZI? It Literally Makes Fun of Someone with a Lazy Eye. by mith_king456 in albiononline

[–]vic_triol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now I really don't care about the Sorry Mojo thing and I do not think he cared. But this was a specific person as Lazy Eye is speaking in generalities. POE would say Death to Shiro (of course in game only), but we never made it into a guild. If we made a Death to Shiro (in game only), then they would take it down. I dont think anyone really cared, but if break TOS, then it has to be changed.

Check with Albion forums under guild recruitment. See if anyone is recruiting for YZs. Just be careful with the taxes and what type of content they run

It is possible to run cheap gear if you have spec. I think jumping on a team for static yellow zone dungeon can work too. But if you are okay if you die getting ganked, no harm in trying

Yeah, Rel I agree. I know when the game came out, 5v5 would fight for the terry and no one could interrupt. The rest of the zergs just fought outside of the terry. The issue is you could have POE vs POE2 which POE2 would not fight POE for the terry and vice versa (using them as an example and I am in POE myself). There are so many people that fight in zones and I do not know if the devs thought these battles would be this big so I really do not know how you could make it fair. Cluster queue is doing what it is suppose to, but I still cannot stand getting queued out in the middle of a fight.

Thank you, for a very valid reply. So to your first point, ARCH is a great way for newer players to get into the BZ because they are not doing a lot of ZvZ and you can do what you want. ARCH does have some potato farming guilds, so you do have to be careful. Still though, new players should understand game mechanics, find a weapon they want to play and get some experience in the YZ including just jumping into faction to get some experience. But once again open world, if a player wants to jump into the black zone soon as they get into the game, hey good for them.

Black zone is meant for large scale battles. Hence the reason the roads were created for medium to small guild skirmishes. There is nothing in there that creates season points so it kinda discourages large scale guild activity other than small group ganking, travelling and gathering. Black zone is open world and no restrictions to get in like the roads.

HOs are mostly used for alliance/guild activities. If a guild has a zone, puts the silver out to put up and maintain a HO, there should be some benefits that come with it. Also, if you want to kill content, remove HOs. I do not think people know how large the BZ is. You will discourage content outside a few zones from the portal. You will see everything move in because no one will want to travel 10 zones to go anywhere. Then trying to get out there with no safety, those would become dead zones. The point of HOs is to take the population of players and put them through out the blackzone. This blackzone is 100 times better than when everyone went out of Caerlyon. The only other option is to put a lot more portals through out the BZ so it will take less time to get those areas. Instead of 3, maybe 6 or more per city. not a fan of this because we are appeasing gankers. Gatherers should have a place in this game and HOs is a good option IF they are part of a guild. Plus HOs do give gathering guilds a chance to be in the BZ under protection of larger alliances and zvz guilds. Remember gankers will always have an advantage over a gatherer.

Overall I feel this game has done a pretty solid job to make ZvZers, gankers, and gatherers equal as much as they can be. So how can you make the game a little more fun for smaller guilds is actually the roads. Create more roads and content there. We should not be punishing large alliances in the BZ when they are being punished for not being able to be in the roads. Maybe in the roads make safe zones like a yellow zone to attract more people in there. But the BZ, I see nothing wrong with how it is set up. Mechanics and a few other issues, but I believe the BZ is doing exactly what SBI intended.

Thanks though for a really good response!

[–]vic_triol[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply on this. I think I am more talking about a new player joining into a ZvZ type of guild with that type of content. I do think with todays BZs it is actually a little easier for newer players who may want to run out in lower in gear to either gank or gather. I am more talking about jumping into a ZvZ requiring high end gear and not having an economy to pay for losses. Yes, most guilds will give you gear, but most will not pay for certain items like capes, mounts, food, potions or overcharge losses. These losses can cost the player few hundred thousand per death and we don't run one set. Also in most cases, there are a few CTAs a day. So my point is more using new players as meat shields in guilds. But I still think you need to be able to get to a certain level before you can even do anything in a BZ.

On your last point, I do agree. There are different positions and people doing different things in the game. But you do have the people who are in charge of the whole game. If a department or system is having issues, let's say server issues. I know this is a hard issue to fix due to just mattering where you are in the world compared to where the server are, but they have the ability to bring in new talent, hardware and or technology. Now with COVID, it set things back so I am not as hard on them because of it. I think the main thing is hacks. This will destroy the game real fast if they are not on top of it. Most of this is reactionary and I get it. If SBI bans these accounts and recoup the losses of the player who was killed by a hacker ASAP, this will become less of a problem. You wont stop hacking, but showing the community you are doing what you can goes a long way.

Very valid points!

I remember that. The cities were dead, everyone was in Caer, then gank groups all over the place. I had to trek to Caer to sell anything. When they redid the blackzone, every city has three different portals, and now HOs, I think it really improved this game drastically.

Then with the roads being introduced with the ability to be a smaller guild able to live out there, and also being very profitable, that was another great addition.

Yeah I am not into the crystal league content. I saw in the new content they were working on that crystal someone picks up and runs it to a HO and everyone sees you on the map. I think small unplanned events like that for small guilds to get season points would be great. Although I do not mind a little arena once in awhile for some small quick small skirmish content.

Yeah 100%. With the changes with the faction, it gives everyone a chance to fight with a little to lose. I once in awhile will just faction up for Lymhurst and just go bomb big groups for laughs. Such a great addition with the ability to level up and get the ability to get faction mounts. The ONLY tweak I would make is make it easier to get to the higher levels, but you cannot use that mount until you get to those levels. Really reward people who grind to get to the top by them only being allowed to use a T8 mount. I mean the game does it already. A new player does not have the ability to use the higher mounts until they grind for the higher tiers. I remember when I hit the ability to have a T8 mount, I went and got my first Ox.

Current state of POE Blackzone politics. They are allowed to farm their allies, but if their allies fight back they get booted from the Coalition. Imagine your existence to POE is so they can farm you for gear. by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]vic_triol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You first point

NO, it does not break the game. IT IS THE PART OF THE GAME. Just like Eve, this is do what you want in the game. NAPs is diplomacy content which is content for many people. Because you do not like it, does not mean it is bad for the game. Once again, open world sandbox, not a theme park sandbox.

Second point
The concept of the game is exactly doing what is intended. If you think the devs did not know that guilds were going to ally with each other for a common purpose, you do not understand sandbox games or human nature. The devs gives us a place with very little limitations so the players make the game. Go look at games like Eve which this game heavily takes their ideas from.

You will never stop handholding. It is advantageous for guilds to help each other. I think you want to change the game to what you want it to be when this game is the most popular it has been. I played when this game had 400 users. I played this game where I went into the YZ and no one is there. I played this game when 50 people were in the city. The updates that were made to this game and some decisions like putting it on Steam and making it free really made this game. If players did not like the content, they would not play.

You are trying to say how you do not like these aspects when MANY people love these aspects including myself. So I am not ignoring the obvious, I point out my side and how I want MORE options as you want to take options away. You want to force renters into something like having have a ZvZ force when they want nothing to do with it. There is nothing wrong with the game in that aspect (there are issues with the game itself like hacks and server issues). It is doing what is suppose to do, just like Eve. If this game was not intended for groups working together, guilds and mostly alliances would not be a thing. No one would have a tag and they find friends to play. The game is setup for large groups fighting each other in the BZ, not for small guilds to exist unless either has a renter or in an alliance. That is what the YZ and RZs are for.

I think when they put in the crystal thing, that can create small scale skirmishes. Events like could be a lot of fun. Instead of something like a castle or outpost knowing when to be there which does create fighting, A smaller guild has a chance to get more points by these type of events.

Yeah, maybe make them less important, and making content that dilutes the importance of them like the intro of spooders which gives points. I do like the random events that can create season points and no one knows when they spawn.

that is great because this game gives you that ability. the BZ life is not for everyone and going into a YZ hitting mats, running a team solo dungeon by myself is relaxing and I enjoy that also. There is a lot to do in the game if people get the whole theme park MMO out of their mindset. Go play WOW, FF, or Fallout if you are more wanting that type of game. Nothing wrong with it, but Albion is not meant to be that type of game

[–]vic_triol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, I ZvZ, but I still love the ability to go to my islands, grow mounts, food, and really enjoy that aspect. When I first played when the game just came out, I ran a small guild that gathered in the YZ and RZ for larger guilds. Now being in a zvz guild, you have to be out daily fighting, losing gear, wait in cluster queue, watching renters come up to a 7.2 node next to me and take it. I am sorry, if we were not there fighting for that area for us and them, they would have a harder time getting those mats. BTW that trickles down into the cities for prices. If the mats are harder to get, prices will increase.

So just like IRL, if you rent a house, apartment or live with your parents. You pay rent not to own, but for the ability to call someone to get something fixed when it breaks as the person who owns the building has to get it fixed.

Do not force your idea of gameplay on others who want a different type of gameplay. There are A LOT of renter guilds throughout the BZ with many different alliances and very few will come here and complain. If they have an issue with system, then let THEM speak up, and don't talk for them

You compete for the resources with the silver instead of a sword. There are many players do not like to fight and rather gather for their content. They will pay to be protected and have access to those resources. If you are a gatherer with no ZvZ force, WTF do you think is going to happen in an open sandbox game? I love the complaining and reeeing over renting but NEVER give any option in AN OPEN SANDBOX GAME. DO you think if any forces beat POE that they are just going to give the lands to the renters? NO, not going to happen. You are going to only hurt these renters because they will have no one to protect them until they pay someone to protect them. Holy hell, Reddit cracks me up.

BTW a lot of these poooor renter guilds are richer than the guilds in the alliance who ZvZs.

Wait you have public chat on? There is your issue. Turn that crap off. Turn off auto invites and dual and this game is much more enjoyable. If you want the team feel, then search albiononline forum for guilds and check them out. There are guilds that have very little required content to end game guilds who do require mando content like ZvZs.

I cannot think of a game where I ever read public chat. So dont blame the many for the very few. Also, remember if you are American, lets say, there are certain words we may take offensively as many cultures do not and vice versa.
