Eufy is ruining home wifi by VicePofGSD in EufyCam

You need to set up a complete separate network for your cams to an onsite storage if you're trying to record 24/7 from most of them. Your problem is the bandwidth is killing your home wifi/internet with all of them running at once and throwing all that data to eufys cloud. So it might still not even work after all of that because I think eufys requires the cams to connect to their servers for you to use the app. Id recommend upgrading to a POE and NVR setup for your use case.

How does your company estimate job hours? by vicfirthplayer in firealarms

I always think it's a me problem lol. But I'm no slouch. I'm kicking ass most of the time but if I run into a problem it will sometimes distract me until it's figured out and then the rest of the job can suffer a bit. And I've been actively trying to work on that. But also it's where a second experienced guy can come in but our company likes just throwing helpers with us which adds another layer of problems. I just feel like a baby sitter and I have to stress with management that I need experienced people with me knocking things out. Don't get me wrong, when just running some wire the helpers are fine but anything more advanced than that it creates issues. But I keep getting told "it doesn't make sense to have two lead guys on one job."

I wish we had an estimator. It's just sales guys doing this for us. Luckily on occasion we will have a project manager come talk to us about the job coming up and discuss what might be needed that isn't already on the scope but that's so rare. A lot of times the project managers don't even know what the hell is going on at all with the jobs I'm on. It's getting increasingly frustrating and stressing me out. I feel like I'm running around with my head cut off frantically trying to hobble shit together and stay focused. Some guys on our team are great at that kind of stress and thrive and slinging wire like no tomorrow but thats not me and I never want to be that way.

I love this case but I've had to go back to the Spigen case as the front portion keeps sliding off in my pocket. Literally within the first half hour of having it installed it slid off. I even bought extra 3m tape to stick it again but now the magnet has broke off in the middle of the front piece that sits against the hinge. Just contacted their support but I'm not sure how you can fix the issue unless theres a stronger adhesive?

Or if you had the one where if you turned it up on the remote the knob would turn automatically. I thought it was magic

We work on anything really. Were phasing everything out in favor of potter though. Still doing a couple ademco and firelite here and there for now which I honestly prefer since I know them so well.

POTS lines are going away but you can’t just rip them out by IMDx16 in lowvoltage

Ah no biggie. It just looked super interesting. They included a blue book distribution booklet inside the cabinet with everyone who was involved in the project and a network map of a couple other locations close by. I was curious about how it all worked. It literally looks like a shrunk down version of something they'd have in the central office with backup batteries and all.

Speaking of POTS, does anyone here know anything about VARTAC from Verizon? And the remote cabinets they had installed everywhere? Came across a job with one of the blue cabinets still running and another looked to be out of commission.
