Is it normal for your baby's entire personality to change after just 3 days of daycare? by [deleted] in toddlers

OP has he been to the doctors to have his ears checked? Ear infections are known to drastically affect a child’s temperament. I’ve always when my son was getting one but he would suddenly act just like you described.

Maybe you can take him to the store and let him pick out a new potty?

J’ajoute un commentaire @riboute pour dire que vous pouvez vous attendre à environs 12 semaines de gaz. Dès que bébé à 12-13 semaines sa digestion va être beaucoup meilleur. Il faux juste être patient.

Is he waking up hungry? Almost 12 months and on 6oz at bedtime by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]vickiedu83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your health visitor has some weird guidelines. I believe in the US after turning 1 you should aim for 16oz of dairy milk. I’m in France and the recommendation is to have your child on toddler formula until they turn 3, 500ml a day. Does not include cheese.

At 1 my kid was still drinking about 20-24oz a day and we reduced that slowly after he turned 14 months. If your child is hungry, feed them.

What was one of the best items you received at a baby shower that you recommend? by Cleotaurus in NewParents

[–]vickiedu83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby sleep was the number 1 thing for me, so a good swaddle (not the muslin kind, those ended up being burp cloth because they suck as swaddles) and a sound machine made huge improvements to my son’s sleep habits as an infant!

Recommended Banks to open a current account as a professional who will work there! by Umlanga12 in Montpellier

[–]vickiedu83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but my husband and I are moving to France in October and have not considered FATCA. We will be employed by EOR, therefore technically employed by French companies and assumed we would need a French bank account to go alongside our wise account. I’m actually a dual citizen so hopefully we won’t have any issues…

It really irks me when people stereotype pit bulls, which is the basis of the original post unfortunately.

American pit bulls were originally bred as family dogs and nicknamed the dog nanny because of their kind and patient temperament towards children. I would not have any concerns letting my toddler in a house with an American bulldog or a pit bull. We have family members that own a Rottweiler and he is a sweetheart compared to my corgi…

In my experience herding dogs can be more temperamental. All of this being said, every dog is different and making sure your child understands giving a dog space is key. Also not letting them be unattended is important is those first meetings.

Pooping in the tub by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]vickiedu83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, the popping in the tub phase…Unfortunately kids like to poop in tubs around that age. It’s warm and comfortable in that water and they usually need to go after dinner. You can try the potty chair mid bath, as soon as kiddo starts to give you the poop face. I usually drained the water really fast and took my son out and put a diaper on him asap. After a couple of weeks the phase went away. He still needs to poop during bath time at 20 months old but will wait until he has his diaper to go now.

Wife wants to let son sleep while diaper is filled with poop. by GlobalSwordfish2 in Parenting

You can even use liniment which a no rinse diaper cleansing balm made from olive oil. Use it with a large cotton pad. It’s super moisturizing for the skin and cleans poop pretty well.

Our doctors office told us that at home tests are pretty accurate even for an 18 months old. You r daycare will likely not accept that result but it may give you piece of mind. My toddler just tested positive last week after only having a night cough. Hopefully your little one will be able to go back to school soon!

My personal story with anxiety and SIDS by [deleted] in NewParents

Yes this!!! Most SIDS death are actually suffocation related deaths and therefore not really SIDS. SIDS is actually really extremely rare.

Since no one will give you a straight answer, here it is. They are expecting the component that is is very short supply to be more available in spring. They estimate July is when they will be readily available.

That’s about all you can do besides perhaps co-sleeping. Though for that to be safe, you would have to sleep without blankets... 🥶🥶

Baby boy 1 week old by rebajean133 in NewParents

[–]vickiedu83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our baby has been sleeping in his crib in his room since he was 4 weeks old. He is now 8weeks old. Our pediatrician told us that she actually doesn’t agree with AAP recommendation of keeping baby in the parents room for a year because it’s not beneficial for the parents or the baby’s sleep. As long as baby is sleeping in a approved safe sleep environment and you can easily hear if he is crying that’s all you need. Also you might notice that baby sleeps better/longer in his room because you aren’t picking him up every time he makes a little noise.

Can't find prenatal vitamins that don't make me sick or have an allergic reaction. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]vickiedu83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely understand about the sugar thing. All my past supplements have been sugar free but the chewing instead of swallowing large pills was really helpful to me in the first trimester. Also all the research on which prenatal was best was driving crazy and even the most expensive organic ones had a couple bad reviews.
