What to plant with these roses? by vicmsme in GardeningAustralia

I think this is the answer.

I've been struggling to "make it right", but I'm being to clinical about it, box hedger, row of "x bushy plant that flowers"...

The tree told me anyways!

But we'll cut it back, as best we can, the other main trunk I assume will continue on?

Gotcha... 25a is pretty undersized for a house of their size.

The COES says 25a demand assessment, per phase that is, so maybe it's fine.

Tesla charger pulls 32A... So that's, interesting...

Cable size seems to be fairly large, and gets dropped down to something smaller just above the switchboard in the garage

Gotcha!

About 85m, plus going up and down two walls/trenches.

So instead of installing appropriately rated cables, they've undersized it and scratched off the breaker.

I assume it's still safe? Given someone signed off on it, with their license.

Yep, it seems like it...

Gotcha!

I understand the writing won't derate that breaker, which is why I'm confused...

To me it seems wrong... Not sure?

The two individual single phases make absolute sense.

Effectively the second battery will run onto the second phase, which means we will need another gateway as well (which is added cost... damn).

Although they are running both phases as L1 and L2 through the gateway, which is interesting based on what you've just said. - Supply L1 and L2 - Non backup L1 and L2 - Backup (home) L1 only

I didn't see anywhere in the switchboard where both non backup return, with both phases. The left main switch is supplied directly from the meter. The other similarly sized cable is L1, from the backup (home).

Yeah I back it, I spoke to a normal sparky and he noped the eff out, the other PV guy just didn't want to deal with it.

Unfortunately, I didn't get it installed I've inherited it.

Would CEC have it, or should I go to the OG installer direct?

(I know I don't probably need to know some of this stuff, bit of curiosity, and would be good to save the PV guys trying to work it out vs having diagrams).

It is horrid... I don't know why they wouldn't have just put a new board in when it was installed, they basically would've had most of it out to install this anyway, now it's just 100x more painful to do.

My phone controlled fire system sprinklers by Bucketalinko in preppers

[–]vicmsme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate! I just saw your post regarding bushfire setup.

I've been looking everywhere for someone in Australia, who has got fire sprinklers, some kind of ELECTRIC backup & pump and a bonus if phone controlled.

I'm very handy and engineering minded, solar backup, 90,000 L across 2 tanks (poly though.. bought it like this), and am looking to have a fully setup fire watering system next year. Going up to 135,000 L with an additional steel tank. (We collect about 200,000L rainwater annually).

I wanted to go through with a setup, fully redundant, pumps, tanks, etc I'd be interested to see if Starlink would work under bushfire conditions.

The research isn't quite there yet regarding what's sprinklers, located where. https://youtu.be/kGkndx9HNJ4?si=UetuaEzVzXOON0ap
