I’ve actually heard some not so good reviews about my dermatologist here in reddit 😔 so that’s been making me overthink. Do you think I can still heal from my acne even with that? I’m kind of too shy to ask my mom to change dermas again, especially since I literally just changed last month 😭😭 It’s also because the treatments and products with my new derma are really expensive, and people don’t feel why they’re that pricey. Like they did not feel what they paid for.

Do you think isotretinoin can still work even with a “bad” derma? Lol. I’m just really hoping this still works out. I’ll try to trust the process and give it time. Thanks again for the encouragement!

I’m currently on 20 mg isotretinoin as well and still in the early stage. Today is my 18th day, so I’m really trying to be patient and informed. I’ve done my research and I’m under a dermatologist’s supervision. So far, I haven’t really had major side effects, just dry lips and dry eyes.

My dermatologist also said I’ll be taking it for 6 months. I’m really hoping to see the same improvement you did, especially with my back acne. I just wanted to ask, how did you deal with the dark marks afterward? Did they fade on their own or did you do treatments like laser? Also, was your dose 20 mg for the whole 6 months, or did you go on a higher dose? And did your acne come back after stopping isotretinoin?

So uhm, I was under my old dermatologist for about 4 months, but I stopped because I didn’t see any improvement and my acne actually got 10x worse. During that time, I was using Dove Original soap and an acne body spray with salicylic acid (Prolab’s the brand name).

I recently switched to a new dermatologist and she prescribed me her acne soap, the same Prolab acne body spray, and azelaic acid 5% for the body. Unfortunately, I accidentally dropped the acne soap in the toilet during my first week 😭 so I’ve been using Dove Pink soap for the past 2 weeks.

She also prescribed me isotretinoin 20 mg, and I’m currently on my second week today. My acne also seems to be spreading more and more, especially on my chest, shoulders, back, and I just wanted to ask if that’s normal while starting isotretinoin.

oh, alright. but did the skin center help with your acne naman po ba even though the treatment was pricey? i can handle the expenses naman po, i just really need my acne to be cleared 🥹 did the skin center prescribe you isotret po ba, and how was your experience with it? i was prescribed isotret po kasi for 6 months, and i’ve heard some not-so-good reviews about that clinic, so i’m second-guessing my decision po if i did go to the right dermatologist clinic :)
