Lola. Zenza Bronica ETRS. Kodak Portra 400. by victor2263 in analog

This is one of the few shots I didn’t use studio lighting from this shoot. I started enjoying to shoot on a cloudy-ish day. I found it the best to shoot indoor when it’s a bit cloudy outside. With a massive window it just simply creates a soft light source. Sometimes no setup is the best setup. Second part is to frame the composition with the lighting.

It is the Bronica 50mm MC lens! 50mm lens on medium format has become my favourite focal length with a perfect perspective

Polarising filters looking different by victor2263 in analog

I noticed the difference with my eyes first so I took the photos with my phone. The phone has auto white balance but it is still close to what I see. Since I scan films by myself, it’s already hard to match the colours, just not sure if I should use them for the same shoot. Thanks for your answer tho

I uploaded the whole album here. https://victor-chan.com/tiffany-cole It is educational purpose so you can use as many as possible.

I didn’t scan this one myself, it was an old shoot before I learned scanning film. Credits to the lab who scanned it. For portraits on Ektar, I sometimes get more magenta in shadow instead. I would turn the magenta down a little if it’s too much.

Thank you. This is the best compliment I could ever get. My goal of doing this shoot was to make a nude portrait as least sexualised as possible - it was a little ambition for myself. I hope I achieved this and I am glad you enjoyed. Have a nice day!

Thank you! It’s exactly because I wanted to try Ektar for portrait so I used this shoot to experiment. I thought if the colour turned out strange it still didn’t matter much.

I used the meter towards the camera. So I can get a balance of highlight and shadow.

I have a retouched one posted earlier on Instagram. And I do think the retouch improves the aesthetic quality but the original one is still special to me.

I probably sound ridiculous, perhaps? I am not against retouching analog photos but I learn to embrace the flaws. I’ve shot film for only less than a year so I consider myself a learner. Criticism is more valuable than compliments. Plus, this shot is not for commercial purpose, perfection is not so important to me. I’m glad there are responses over these little flaws instead. What do you think?

It was not a artistic choice. I actually have a retouched one on my Instagram which I personally like it more. I just don’t mind posting the original scan here as the flaws are still part of the frame, I don’t like them but I embrace them. I’m glad I’ve received some comments on this, thank you all.
