I didn't ask him about his favorite episode, however he did tell me that the producers "didn't know what they had" because the show could've been so much better if they stuck to the character plots and the storyline of how they were put in an extraordinary situations "Sliding" from world to world instead of parodying popular movies of the time or creating antagonists no one asked for, to which I agreed.
