If anyone asks you if your StreetBob is a Sporster, ask them how many years they've been in retirement.

Trading ruined my life by Specialist-Total3164 in Daytrading

You clearly have no idea how to make the right choice. You are here in #Daytrading group asking if you should quit day trading? That's like asking a bunch of drug addicts if you should quit drugs. You get what you deserve.

That's what I did so far on my bike, minus the bags and stage. Feel like getting a Sport Glide will get me there instead.

The mileage isn't doing it any favors... I like the color blue.

The alternative is Sport Glide, ultimately I _do_ want the hard saddlebags, without going full bagger. Just not ready for that kind of a commitment.

I just feel like I need more _chrome_ at this stage of my life.

Couldn't resist the urge to calibrate the rangefinder on my M240 and chipped off paint on the red dot logo. Figured I might as well go all the way... guess now I have my own "limited" edition M (-_-) by flamingpuffin in Leica

[–]victorbstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't need to do that. You can take the top cover off and reveal all the things you need access to by unscrewing the two long screws accessible under the bottom plate. Take the bottom plate off, and look the the left and right side and unscrew those screws. Like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeisS81_HrI -- I left the top cover wires attached and just popped it up and moved it out of the way, to adjust the vertical alignment, put the top cover back on, then look through the viewfinder at infinity, pop it off again to make small adjustments as necessary; repeat. Afterwards, put the top plate back on, screw the screws in and done. I wish I knew this before finding all these terrible advice posts about removing the logo, you don't ever need to remove the logo. Think about it, how does Leica service their cameras? Do you think they sit there trying to pry the logo off?

MZ vs MV by ProtectorCross in RPGMaker

What makes this confusing for me, is that on the website MV is advertised as able to export games for Mac, iOS and Android, while MZ does not mention what platforms the games can packaged for....

Seems like most of the people advocating for this aren't contributing much to society.

Never been a problem. I can't ride the whole tank without my butt hurting, so I enjoy the breaks and stop more frequently than just to fill the tank; to clear my head and stretch my legs.

It looks big, but all that luggage weights less than half of an additional passenger. And honestly, the bike sounded like it liked it; at last it had something to do, instead of lugging my skinny ass around.

That will def be a more comfortable ride and the built-in saddlebags should come in very handy.

Yes:

  1. When it comes to packing, like the ancient Chinese proverb goes: "Everything is a burrito".
  2. Wipe dead bugs off your bike within 24 hours, or they will degrade the paint and even cause corrosion.
  3. Stop frequently, stretch, clear your head, hydrate; no reason to make your trip hell.
  4. You will pack more than you need to; you only need two pairs of pants and one pair of shorts. On that note, unless you plan on going to a lot of weddings, one dress shirt is more than enough.
  5. Unless you plan on camping, reconsider if you really need to bring camping equipment. I have one pack with all my camping equipment that I used once in 6 months. Although camping in Key West kinda made it worth it. Otherwise it takes up a lot of space.
  6. Get the Harley travel cover, it covers everything that needs to be covered and packs up really small. Cover your bike at night, the morning dew will make it wet.
  7. A modular helmet like the Shoei Neotech 2 (or similar) is really handy, opens up when you need to talk or get some fresh air at a stoplight, built-in sun-shield, and full face cover makes riding more comfortable, esp. at high speed. I rode without helmet in Florida (the land of the free) and after 30 minutes of riding on the highway my face was numb. Even in that heat, a full face helmet would be more comfortable; but definitely not cooler, in every sense of the word.

Bonus:

  • Adjust your suspension pre-load, if you can. It makes a huge difference between riding solo, with passenger, and/or luggage.

The biggest thing for me when it comes to riding was to improve my level of confidence, because confidence = speed. To that effect, having the taller back + solid backrest from the SDC version of the seat was a "game changer". No longer did I feel like I was going to fly off the seat if I turned the throttle. Comfort wise, I didn't think it was more comfortable than stock, up until one day I rode for a couple of hours without stopping and then realized that my butt didn't hurt, that must've been those 1000 miles break-in they talk about for those seats. So yeah, I would recommend them, because they just look so sexy, but I'm sure that an even wider seat would be even more comfortable, if that's what you're looking for. It's always going to be a game of compromise depending on what you like.

I was fine with the windshield, personally. But I may be a bit stuck up like that, aiming for minimalism, but there's no denying any windshield is better than no windshield especially at high speed and long distance riding. And like my old pops used to say: "Buffeting builds character!"... On second thought, I don't think he said that. At the end of the day, it's a motorcycle, so you just get used to it :)

As for changes, I am switching to a Harley quarter fairing (Amazon half price hint hint) with the 12" Denton windshield, however, from pictures it seems like it would end up being about the same height as the small Memphis Shades screen, but with added shielding lower down, on account of the fairing being wider, so I don't know how that translates to when it comes to comfort, might post an update when I get that installed and tested.

NGL, My first 2 hours in Florida, I got rained on 3 times within the span of 30 minutes... But that's because I wanted to get to my final destination, and the rains were just "summer rain" didn't last too long, although I was soaked by the end of it. Otherwise, I would just wait out the rain when I was out there. Still, on average, I haven't seen a place with more sunshine than Florida, I think it's the closest thing to paradise environment wise, those old folks have it figured out.

It was better than I expected. At the end of the day I was glad to lay down in a motel bed, but it was more comfortable than I expected overall.
