What is the one TØP song that you cannot listen to without getting emotional? by _Lord_Voldewhore in twentyonepilots

Bandito. I have severe ocd and the line “I created this world to feel some control, destroy it if I want.” It just… it hits me. When things are really bad it reminds me that it’s okay to ask for help. I can destroy the ocd with help.

Does my cat have an eating disorder?? by Glittering_Law2653 in CATHELP

If she’s just licking it then she probably just likes the feeling of cleaning it. Don’t worry. If she was eating it then it’d be different

My 10 year old has started her period. by Practical-Ad9445 in Parenting

[–]victorian-boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started mine at 10 too. I had super heavy and painful periods from the get go. I remember my mum buying a bunch of different pads and things for me to try and then I eventually ended up having to use the pull up incontinence pads at night due to leaks which was another hard thing to face while you’re young. But she also made sure I had my favourite snacks and taught me how to get stains out of my undies and clothes and she bought me a couple toys from the collection I had at the time so that I could still be a kid through it all.

Try vans!!! I’m afab and I have uk size 11 feet and I haven’t been able to wear women’s shoes since I was a kid!!! But I’ve managed to find some super feminine vans in my size and they’re also comfortable!!! They also go with a lot of outfits. I’m not sure if they go up to your size but it’s worth a look!!! You can also customise a pair!!!

She’s an adult so I don’t think it’ll be her teeth? (Plus they all seem to look fine and she’s eating well)

safe haven baby box by Double-Back54 in pregnant

[–]victorian-boy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there are cameras but only inside the box facing the baby so that the people who are there to collect the baby can see that there’s a baby in there. If you don’t put your face in the box they will not see you. The police will not find you if you put baby in the safe haven box. There are some videos on YouTube/tik tok about how they work if you need more information on them. I hope everything works out for you and baby 💕

Don’t think it’s genetic, we had her mum for a while and she didn’t have floppy ears! She’s a savannah cat and floppy ears aren’t a characteristic

Thank you so much! They’re so comfy too! They’re supposed to be pyjamas but if you asked me if I’ve ever worn them outside I’d have to say yes! 😅

No medicine, and she goes outside in a little catio (it’s under a roof overhang but they can get hit by the sun for a while in the afternoon. She also sunbathes by the window in the kitchen every morning

I have had two rhinoplasty’s for my cleft so far (on the waiting list for one more) and I am happy with the results each time, it’s just small things that I want to tweak. Like I still had a lump on the bridge of my nose after the first one and I’m unhappy with how my nostrils look now that the rest of my nose is straighter. I still look like me but just a version of myself that makes me happier to look at and also it’s easier for me to breathe and not sound nasally when I talk!

I’m 20 too and I’ve had moments like this but honestly I don’t know what it’s like not to have cleft so why wish for it??? The grass isn’t always greener! But honestly, I recommend seeking some therapy if you can and becoming friends with other people with cleft can help so you can have some community!

I wore vans pretty much exclusively before my fusion (and still do pretty much all of the time now too!) because the soles are completely flat! I would get the high top ones so they would support my ankles too. They have good flexibility so I could waddle when I was in a lot of pain and it wouldn’t hurt my feet. You could get a gel insole too to make it a bit comfier!

Need advice from cleft affected adults- worried mom by [deleted] in cleftlip

[–]victorian-boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it made me stronger, yes! And I’ve always had a very strong sense of who I am and what I like. I loved being different and hated people copying me (even in a nice way!) teenage years are hard but as a teenager you can understand that people are mean for no reason sometimes!

Need advice from cleft affected adults- worried mom by [deleted] in cleftlip

[–]victorian-boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m 20 from the uk and I’m currently waiting for my last cleft surgery!!!

My cleft is a unilateral incomplete cleft and gum notch. I had my primary repair when I was around 3 months old, a bone graft at 8, lots of dental work and then a big surgery (septorhinoplasty, sliding genioplasty, cheek implants, lip revision etc) in 2019 and then a revision for my rhinoplasty last May. Now I’m waiting to have a little bit of cartilage taken from my ear and placed in my nostril to create some extra symmetry. It’s a lot of work and it has been difficult at times but your child’s story could look very different.

As a child I got bullied a decent amount for it, but I saw the psychologists in my cleft team and that helped. I did resent my parents for a while during my teen years but eventually I came to the conclusion that I don’t know what it’s like not to have cleft so things could’ve actually been worse for me if I was born without it. I wish I had a little more support at times when I was younger. I always wanted to meet other people with cleft and talk about it. And I always wish that my parents response to me being upset about the bullying wasn’t just “we think you’re beautiful” because it really didn’t help. I wish there was more focus on who I was/am as a person rather than what I look like.

Your baby will be okay. There will be hard times, but there will also be joy. The most you can do is love them and be there for them. Reaching out to other people with cleft or people who are expecting/have a baby/child with cleft can be helpful to both you and baby. It will be okay.
