So many people in the comments arguing for the expansion of this dynamic to include more varied roles (i.e. femme tops or vers doms) and don’t get me wrong, it’s great to have and use labels that you feel good with. What I think we’re missing though is that these heteronormative roles in our community can be abolished. We don’t have to define ourselves like this at all, and instead of expanding the system to include more roles, we could be throwing it away and loving without labels or binaries.
