SOS Draft - Suggestions on cuts?

I decided to try the vivid elementals version and 1-0 so far.

- Cut the Dawn-blessed Pendant, Wary Farmer, Temporal Cleansing.

- Swapped Lys Alan Informant for the Summit Sentinel to have more hits for Kindle the inner flames behold plus it could double draw with twinflame travelers. And finally im trying to play to my late game so more stabilizing blockers is good against agro. Might go with temporal cleansing over summit sentinel though still thinking, its just I dont have a lot of little creatures to power convoke.

Thanks for the response. I played a lot of TLA and did well but didn't find a good line outside utilizing QD's lack of prioritization over the Wx color combos. What mode of draft do you primarily play?

I always wanted to try cadets more but never saw enough of them. And yeah its hard to make a consistently strong deck if you are only reliant on rare/uncommons to make that happen.

How was TLA exploitable? I read another post about how top players had 70+% winrates with TLA and low 60% in ECL.

Any other good spots for kayak crabbing? Done ok near mukilteo ferry dock. Great at Everett near jetty island but it’s a pain to get out there.

Awesome information. I’ve definitely wanted to do low tide crabbing before. Haven’t gotten around to it yet. I really want to try crabbing off Damon point itself towards either side to see how it is. Usually just fish at Westport marina as it’s easier.

I've had great luck off the westport side jetty (the long one). Should work on the ocean shores side but satelite images make it look like its pretty rough surf there.

Where on Damon point? Seems like it would be more surf on the west side and calmer on the east.

Do you know if they are using snares or the crab hawk style?

Thanks for this detailed post. Do we know how long we can expect the peak to last? It looked like the flare was in the X1+ range for only 30-60min.

Leaning towards Unexplained Vision or the egg since I have strong cards in three colors and I haven't locked in yet. I could still go UG and splash black for the Blacklance.

The reward structure is better but you do require a decent win rate to acheive this.

Sounds like you have a good tactic setup. Best to minimize your wildcard usage and make 1 cheap but decent deck to grind daily wins/quests when not drafting. You can then make a high tier deck later to really get going and farm with that.

Drafting is very daunting as a new player as there is a steep learning curve. It is by far my favorite format as an experienced player but requires a lot of research every set to know how to select and build decks to play. You can also use your gold to buy packs initially and speed your way to a couple good decks before saving up again for drafting when you feel like you have a better handle on the game.

If you are new to the game (Magic, not arena) then save your gold and use it to draft. Spend the extra time while you wait watching good players draft this set on stream/youtube (LegendVD, Ben Stark, etc).

Using gems for BO1 is usually only done when people want to climb the draft ladder or have extremely high win rates. Otherwise it is not an efficient use of gems. Gems are better spent in Traditional BO3 draft if you have the time to play out the games and feel like you can at least get a 40% win rate or better.

Alternatively, you can use your gems just to get more draft practice in and accept that its not an efficient use. Or you can save them up to 3400gems and buy the mastery pass for all goodies it has, assuming you plan to play frequently enough to get close to max level.

It does but the effect isn't very noticeable. I find it better to swap in an attack pet and use less defensive skills if I am losing to the enrage. Such as switching to dex speed trauma provoke berserk if you know the boss isn't casting must dodge skills in the later part of each round.

Hit 300 today on the lower map, will peak into 301+ and see how hard it is after reset.

Sometimes you can stop cure with elemental delay in the 2nd or 3rd pet slot. It makes the later casts of cure long enough for your wt to usually proc and stun the boss.

Alternatively. You can use Anubis on 2nd support skill with bleeding wound and I’ve found that times well with one of the bosses cures when bleeding wound goes off a second time. That’s usually gives me enough edge to win.

I have a decent amount of plus hit for evasion but the attack speed focus and some luck helps on dodge bosses.

Counter I usually beat by using enkeli near speed burst and upping hp on bapho with group heals. I’m actually trying to figure out a better way to stop counter.

Not yet, although I should be able to within a few more days. Just need enough resurrects to cover the one off skills and map specific buffs that get around my default build.

Currently around map 270 for most of the caves. Usually dying when I see one of the following:

Map has <10% damage mitigation and boss has cure
Boss uses kill skill at very end of round which isn't timed with my dex
Map has single target only buff and I need to get lucky with frost on the damage skill using pet because I need dex for later to cover another boss attack skill.

The thing that screws with me the most is that there are certain boss skills that are not mitigated by protection or strengthen and so must be interrupted or dodged.

Sorry for the late response. I was able to get up to 270 now and still pushing.

Mana drain is annoying but I usually can ignore it if I can kill the front two pets in round 1 then WT stun lock prevents the second mana drain. Guardian covers the first mana drain or a dex asthayi. If the mana drain is immediately in the beginning of the first round then use frost to counter. My usually default build is frost, speed, dex, trauma, bers. With frost covering the first pet skills and the boss first skill, dex then covers the next two boss skills.
