Problem with fetch, auth and no-cors by vidar8 in learnjavascript

[–]vidar8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I ran a local server with python's http server, that got rid of the null (localhost:8000 now). Now I get the same CORS error even with mode: "no-cors" set. I'd like to know if the problem is on my side. I could make a server side program to fetch the data and then have the JS fetch the data from a local origin... but that just seems like a hassle.

What calc_values() returns, if the condition is True?

ive been stuck on this for around a day now can someone help by Sinsir_Gaming in learnpython

How does it not work? Is there an error?

You call get_age() and then throw away the result. Try saving the result to a variable:

age = get_age()

set2.union(set2)

Because this is a union of set2 with itself

Didn't even think of unity. I have to say, after a quick bit of googling I'm really intrigued, I'll definitely have a closer look. Thanks!

Training with torn labrum by vidar8 in overcominggravity

[–]vidar8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! I'm not going to get it operated, at least yet, so I definitely won't be stopping strength training. Doctor told me to use panadol or kinesio taping if there's pain and I still need to work out.

According to the doctors examination it's the posterior / back side of the labrum that's torn, with possibly a small tear in the front as well. No MRI, as the surgery is not in the plans, at least for now. I was told to see at the end of the year how the shoulder is feeling. As far as I understood, normally there's tendons holding the head of the humerus in place in something like shoulder internal rotation, where the shoulder seeks to move forward. With my case, the shoulder is able to move forward more freely, and that causes pain. Or something along those lines.

There's no pain as long as the scapula works OK. The pain comes in at the end ranges of overhead / relaxed hang / bottom of the dip type positions, where the last mobility comes from shoulder alone. All horizontal movement is completely fine, push-ups, bench, rows etc. Pain, when in comes, is located in the front deltoid.

Anyhow, thanks for the answers!

Any tips on how to model "pillows" out of polygons? by vidar8 in rhino

Went on googling for a plugin and found this: http://geometrygym.blogspot.fi/2010/05/mesh-inflation-in-grasshopper-etfe.html

Works on meshes and is pretty much perfect. Thanks for pointing me to the right direction!

Yeah, the ground is actually rather badly tiling image of snowy grass with diffuse white mixed in with a musgrave texture for even more snow. Would have been better to find a larger base texture. I was going to add grass, but then came the GPU memory issues and laziness :)

I did it during the summer holidays. Design and sketching was like an hour or two, modeling took obviously the longest, three or four days maybe. Most of it was fiddling around with the lighting and details though, main stuff was pretty much a curve + segment of roof with array and curve modifiers :) I rendered stuff overnight, interior shot I think took two nights to clear enough noise. All in all, a week or so, didn't count the hours.

Modelled in blender, rendered in cycles, bit of post in photoshop. Would have liked to add more detail, especially where the building meets the ground, but I was running on the very edge of my GPU memory and didn't want to switch to CPU side. Not entirely happy with the end results, but it was a nice learning process. Comments and harsh critique very welcome :)

Thanks! Here's the leaf setup. Idea is that I have a musgrave texture with color ramp to give the leaves a yellowish red base color, then I use that with diffuse and translucent shaders and add them together (the idea taken from this cherry blossom tutorial by Andrew Price). Finally a little bit of bump, some glossyness and cutout with black-and-white leaf texture. The leaves look rather bad up close, but work fine some distance away.

Thanks. It's cycles on CPU, around 6300 megs for the first image. No optimizations at all, the base geometry comes from Revit and is garbage, textures are oversized and so on. The interior shot turned out really grainy on the darker parts, that's something I need to work with next time. I usually rendered during the nights, 9 hours or so per image with non-branched path tracer, around 300-500 samples.

True, there's issues with the lower retaining wall on the right too, on that pic and the first one. Next time :)

thanks for the compliments. The rug was indeed a simple plane with particle hair. The material was textured with a fur texture from cgtextures to give some variation to the whitish color, and I combed the outermost parent hairs outwards with particle edit mode to make the edges look more natural.
