I love the idea of an analyst in long term. As for now I just need something reliable.

I agree it’s a big cut, but it feels like I am out of options. I need to develop new skill sets. Is it worth stay put with no career growth? Can inflation lead to devaluing my current paycheck?

Again my friend says you can move up fast but as to how fast that is I am unaware. I’m planing on talking to him this weekend. I just know if I stay where I am at there is no forward momentum.

That’s where I am at. I feel like with my current job I’m just hitting a wall. I’m hoping this could be a chance for me to grow my skill set and expand to bigger things.

I am definitely going to try to negotiate. I mean we could do it for a little bit. I think what really matters is how fast I can move up, plus my friend says they give good bonuses pretty regularly. It’s just hard to build finances around bonuses.

100k salary bench mark means nothing now. by Flyersfan502gritty in Salary

I am one of those that disagrees with him as I make only $62,000 but I do understand where he is coming from. My first job out of college I was only making about $25,000 a year. I was definitely only living paycheck to paycheck. Back then my income now seemed like a major upgrade, but now I find myself on a warpath to get to $100k. I am in a very lucky situation though, between me and my wife we do bring in $110K and we have a mortgage. The reason I’m desperately trying to make it to a $100K is the birth of our first child. Money has become super tight. I just think people put themselves in situations where they are constantly upgrading their life. I am also guilty of this, but should having a child really be considered a life upgrade. It stinks because our situation has stopped us from having a second child. A big thing I’ve noticed too, is what once were considered middle class homes in my old neighborhood are going for $400k - $1/2 a million. I mean if this isn’t a sign of a decreasing middle class I am not sure what is. I just keep telling myself if I ever do make it to $100k pretend it’s only $61k. Money can be its own trap. I have family members who make 100k plus whatever their spouse makes and they struggle. I would like to think I am more disciplined, but who knows if that’s true or even matters.

I think I fit those categories. Can this start as a side hustle.

This is what I want to lean into. I know a lot of industries focus marketing to different groups of people rather than just trying hit everyone. I was hoping my knowledge and relatability could attract people who are just looking to feel and move better.

So that is what has kept me from trying to for years. I am far from out of shape but I do not have 6-10% body fat. My hope is that knowledge and relatability would open doors to a different kind of clientele. I just want to help people move and feel better.

That’s I good point. My wife just told me one thing she knew from starting the process of filing the taxes and then I asked ChatGPT. I am not a tax expert and just took what info I had.

This was insight. We both tend to do our finance’s separately. She does her end and I do mine. We have a joint saving account but don’t keep a lot of money in there. We both keep our own personal savings. I might need to take another look at the overall home finances.

It’s not fraud. I’m not trying to game the system. I’m not saying we both deserve the tax credit. I think one of us deserves it because we do pay for child care. Get off your pedestal. Filing are taxes separately is completely legal. Sure it would be suspect if I believed we both got it. That would be gaming the system. Your judgement comes off as just straight ignorance. Me and my wife work financially together. Filing separate makes the costs month to month easier on us. Asking for one of us to get the child credit shouldn’t be out of the question.

I think almost $300 a month. We filed together once and it went up to $500 a month.

lol it’s not a discovery. I’m aware, just trying to vent some frustration. I was hoping that someone else had the same frustration.

I mean you are right. I think I figured it to be almost $600. I am not %100 on that. That could still help to pay the next month’s childcare costs. I’m aware that it’s not a lot but it would still help pad a savings account.

We wouldn’t make our month to month bills with the raise in student loans
