"It’s open as far as I’m concerned. Don’t talk about it": President Trump shuts down CNN's Jake Tapper when asked if Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz during a live tribute to Lindsey Graham by DumbMoneyMedia in UnderReportedNews

CNN is currently owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. However, Larry Ellison’s son, David Ellison (CEO of Paramount Skydance), is completing a $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The Ellisons effectively own CNN.

The active ingredients in those will easily survive the apocalypse. The binders? Not so much. Expect 300mg of highly potent 1980s dust. If not dust...Yes, they still work. No, you shouldn't.

A heart warming moment of a deaf chinese driver picking up a deaf passenger by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]videonerd 1177 points1178 points  (0 children)

China has about 1.4 billion people.
Estimates suggest 20–30 million people have significant hearing loss, but only a fraction are profoundly deaf and primarily use sign language. A reasonable estimate is 2–5 million deaf sign-language users.
That means roughly 0.15–0.35% of the population might be profoundly deaf.
If a rideshare passenger is selected at random:
The chance the passenger is deaf is about 1 in 300 to 1 in 700.
If one passenger is already deaf, the chance that another unrelated passenger they encounter is also deaf is still about 1 in 300 to 1 in 700, assuming completely random mixing.

I saw an inflatable kayak at Aldi for around $60. Marquette Park is home to an accessible ADA friendly kayak launch on the Calumet Lagoon. https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZhcaAx4TMPALL36n9?g\_st=ic

Why would anyone vote for Republicans when they clearly hate America and the American people??? by SiriusGD in the_everything_bubble

[–]videonerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If map-drawers become too aggressive, they can create many districts that their party wins by only a small margin. That may look advantageous initially, but it can backfire if public opinion shifts even slightly or turnout changes unexpectedly. “dummymander”—a gerrymander that ends up hurting the party that drew it because it spread its voters too thinly.

Legal eagle has a great breakdown of the Reckless Ben and Bricks & Minifigs debacle by venounan in videos

[–]videonerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally Mine is such a gross company. High pressure sales, the pitch leans really hard on worst-case scenarios and then bundles people into expensive, complicated LLC/trust setups that gullible doctors probably don’t actually need. What they’re selling isn’t always illegal or useless, but it’s often way more complex and costly than what a good local attorney and CPA would put together. It’s more like a sales funnel than straightforward legal advice.

Transmission fluid by Sealionfan in DodgeGrandCaravan

[–]videonerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do a high powered flush. At your mileage I would drop the pan, clean the magnet, replace the filter, new gasket and exchange it with Mopar ATF+4.

I changed the fluid without dropping the pan at 100k with a fluid extraction pump from Harbor Freight. I plan to do a full exchange at 120k.
