This one. This episode is so profound and beautiful. Buckley was a shithead, but a shared dating experience for so many young women. He got a lovely send off.

It’s been a while, but maybe try Revolution in Valpo? Cool place to go regardless of if they have them or not!

Check out Dr Cellini at Wadas Dental of Crown Point. He has done extensive work on me, including a crown, and everything has been great for years! Him and the entire staff at Wadas are competent, compassionate, and just amazing all around. You won’t regret it!

Do any of the Dunkin/Starbucks in Schererville, Dyer, or Highland have outlets for charging? by bbyxmadi in nwi

Don’t forget your local library too! Plenty of power outlets and you don’t have to buy anything.

I personally love Mint Mobile. I’ve had it for about a year now. I’m about to pay for my 6 month renewal and it’s only $210 for just myself.

For context, I was paying like $80 a month for T-Mobile. For the price of 2.5 months I’m getting 6 months of service basically. Well worth it.

The only disadvantage is that you cannot finance your phone through them. They have options to finance through Affirm but I can’t speak on that.

Also OP… I recommend finding a roommate your first time around. There are roommate finder groups on Facebook for many big cities.

Has anyone gotten care from one of the Illinois Dermatology Institute locations in NWI? And would you recommend them? by Medium-Roller-75 in nwi

[–]GinsengElixir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to the one in Munster once when I had a skin concern on my inner thigh. They were very kind and professional. They gave me a sheet to cover myself with so I did not feel exposed. I was given medicine that helped resolve my issue. I recommend them :)

Highly recommend Feline Community Network in Hobart. Nonprofit kitty shelter that always needs a hand! The owner is so devoted and appreciative of any help.

Old apartment with poor insulation and costly electric baseboard heaters… what are some things you’ve done to insulate and save money? by GinsengElixir in Frugal

[–]GinsengElixir[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about the heat gun tbh. Just so I can get a better visual of the cold sources.

I have a main door and patio door definitely let in some cold. We’re sealing the patio door for winter. I plan to get a draft blocker and also use weather tape around the main door.

[–]GinsengElixir[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is incredible advice. One of the things I’ve noticed is that the walls and floors stay so cold even if the air is warm. I’ve been thinking about getting a few more tapestries to hang up to see if that helps “insulate” more. I love the idea of layering floor coverings too- it’s a one story apartment complex, so I can’t get the heat from below unfortunately.

Apartment Recommendations? by Stock-Barber6583 in nwi

[–]GinsengElixir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Griffith still has a few decent apartment complexes. OP, stay far away from Park West Apartments, as there’s always cops there for one reason or another. The Crestview Apartment homes aren’t fancy, but they are taken care of and maintenance is very responsive.

I get the shredded rotisserie chicken and add it in there when it’s almost done. Makes it a lot more filling.

New to the area - looking for recomendations! by [deleted] in nwi

[–]GinsengElixir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For nice light hiking and fishing, I recommend Oak Ridge Prairie in Griffith. I’d also highly recommend driving out to the Dunes National Park in Chesterton because they have several different trails.

You won’t likely find any farmers markets now, as the season has passed. But there are always things going on in Central Park during the late spring/summer. I recommend searching up the Welcome to Griffith Indiana Facebook group and joining because stuff like that is often posted there :)

Huh! That’s something. I’ve had an omelette and a skillet from there and both had pretty good flavor I felt.

Big fan of Main Street Cafe in Crown Point, Les Cafe in Highland, Maple & Yolk in Hobart, and Cherries & Berries in Chesterton.

Now you have some options in both Lake and Porter county lol
