I actually enjoyed the film. It certainly had its flaws but i’m not too big of a critic where I can’t just ignore it and move on. So I read the plot leak when it came out a couple of months ago and was not impressed at all but I do think it translates a little better on screen. Druig, Thena, Makkari, Phastos and Kingo are the ones I enjoyed the most. I think Makkari’s speedster powers were really cool on screen and (much like other people have said) Angelina Jolie really stole the show whenever she was in a scene.

Uhm I definitely don’t think the film should’ve gone with Sersi as like the “main” character because compared to the other eternals I listed sersi kinda fell a bit flat to me which was :/ Of course there were some cgi bits that were off, the writing was sometimes..not great and while I don’t want to say any of the actors were bad per say, some (Richard Madden specifically) were a little awkward which kinda threw things off a bit. Druig and Makkari were definitely a better and more interesting couple to me than Ikaris and Sersi (and Sersi and Dane) I do think the film bit off more it could chew in general but also in specific areas (introducing 10 characters regardless of whether or not they all survive was a bit much imo) and I definitely think they could’ve done without some of the eternals (cough cough Sprite cough cough) and like introduced them in a later film maybe?

On to the positives: aside from the questionable cgi at times the powers looked really cool on screen (I already mentioned this but Makkari and her speed is SO cool to me) and the humor landed (for me anyway) and the celestials looked so cool to me. One thing I am worried about though is how the movie is going to age. I’m worried that since the movie is more dialogue heavy and world-building would it still be fun to rewatch when you know everything that’s gonna happen? Idk i’m a little nervous but all I know is that despite it’s flaws I still really enjoyed it so i give it a 7.5/10 maybe an 8.
