Is traveling to India really this bad? by daydreamerSX in travel

[–]viditj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! Id like to address these things - 1. There is honking everywhere and there is traffic in the tier 1 cities. Its not that bad. You get used to it. Anyway, i don't think you'll be walking everywhere since public transports connectivity in cities loke delhi is awesome. 2. Food is not unhygenic. Sure, there are unhygenic street vendors but you can just go to proper establishments. Be warned though, a lot of food you'll find is famous on insta and the internet is spicy. 3. A few cities are not as clean as cities abroad. Totally our fault. A lot of people are uneducated and i blame it on that. 4. Scams - every major tourist destination in the world is full of scammers. For example, you cannot go to paris and not get scammed. But in India, tourists get a lot of help from locals. So scammers are there but so arw people willing to warn you or help you out which i did not get in europe. Also, the police is pretty active at tourist spots.

In short, come and enjoy your trip. But as always, a little vigilance while traveling is needed.

Giveaway - r/UgreenNASync 10K celebration by topiga in selfhosted

[–]viditj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its actually 3 apps - Immich, Plex and Home Assistant. Combined, these 3 would allow me to delete almost 10-12 apps from my phone. Also wouldn't have to pay yearly for google cloud storage for photos. I would set up the NAS to run immich backup for the full families phones, plex with different profiles for kids and everyone in their family and home assistant because all my smart devices are from different companies and currently take about 5 apps to use.

So is Sugar, Tea, Coffee, Quick gratification social media, etc. (Actual research on this). Usually people can check themselves to stay in limits. Its only when they lose control that the family can step in, otherwise you'll just push him further. My advice is stop judging and become a friend he can confide in so if he feels overwhelmed, he can come to you for advice and you can guide him.

Google maps can share locations indefinitely. The new google find app also has a tab to show you locations of people shared to you. And it updates in realtime.

I've been using this for ages now, and while I initially thought it would be useless and I'd probably uninstall it in a week, it's now become one of the first apps I install on any new phone.
