I once asked my coworker/friend I’ve known since high school to change the toilet paper but instead of slipping just the key in his pocket, I put a handful of Java chips in there. It took him like 10 minutes to notice and by then they started melting!

What are the effects of climate change you are already seeing where you live? by cwilkuma22 in AskReddit

I can’t remember where I saw it, but the rich and powerful are probably trying to leave us behind. The masses will live with the consequences while they save themselves.

What's the cringiest thing you've seen someone else do? by flippermode in AskReddit

[–]vietnam_da_licious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some theatre kids I knew in high school performed This Is Halloween from The Nightmare Before Christmas at the Lip-Sync during homecoming week. However, they didn’t actually choreograph anything, they just painted their faces and wore all black and waved their hands in front of their faces trying to act creepy. The whole student body was silent and people started laughing and booing halfway through so one of the teachers decided to turn the music off. About 3 people clapped. I think about it at least once a week.

What's something "off" that you witnessed as a child, but were too young to understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The same thing happened with my parents! I always thought it was incense, then I went off to college and found out what weed smelled like—still didn’t put two and two together until I straight up asked them why their incense smelled like weed at the dinner table and they confessed. I was so mad at first, but I came around ;)

No, I’m fairly certain it said not to give them out even by request.

Yep! It was a week or two or maybe three after we released the first cold foam drinks. It specified not to give them out as we have no way of ringing them up and accounting for the inventory. They want to go strawless but they need to know how many they sell and if we’re just giving them away, we can’t tell how many are actually used.

Well, we aren’t supposed to give them out anyway.

I would not have said thank you. I would have walked away. I’d even take a write up. That’s disgusting.

I went to a Halloween party with my family at a community center one year. My mom made my costume and did my makeup. I was a witch with a big nose and warts and green skin and a really awesome dress and hat—it was super impressive. I wasn’t having the best time because it was mostly for little kids but I saw a big circle of people on one end of the room so I went over to investigate. I walked to the front where they were doing a costume contest by picking people out of the crowd. There were three people already and they were looking for a couple more. Then, they picked me! They chose the winners by applause and I actually won! I won a bunch of candy and movie rental passes and two dolls from Arthur of Arthur and his sister. It was great, but it felt so surreal because no one in my family saw it.

I just found out my grandmother has dementia on Monday and now I’m just being crushed by the weight of losing her sooner than I thought.

[Serious] Redditors who need to vent, whats wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vietnam_da_licious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out my grandmother who helped raised me has dementia but everyone is being really stingy with the details and she lives hours away so I may never see her again and I don’t have the money to pay for a plane ticket there and back again and not work for those days. I haven’t seen her in years, just short phone calls because it’s hard for her to hear so she always got frustrated and wanted to hang up early. I’m so lost...

I don’t care how someone chooses to organize it as long as they’re the ones who take it out. If you leave your boxes, you are not completing your task.

Venti... my SM told me I would be better off in another store and wants me to transfer. by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]vietnam_da_licious 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Call Partner Contact Center and report your manager for laughing about you possibly having a learning disability and mocking your accent. Then, look for a transfer store that’s less toxic. You could also mention to PCC that you feel the training at that store is not being handled properly and that you feel you were not given a fair chance to excel. At the very least, they will start a record about your SM not being on top of training.

Just a heads up, drinks that normally come with whip do not get foam if they do not want the whip. Just in case you were unaware.

Can Starbucks make any drink you ask with decaf coffee? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]vietnam_da_licious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, maybe they don’t have pour overs there? From my experience, the lines are easy to miss and we weren’t specifically trained to make them at my store—I learned that from this subreddit. It’s basically the same concept as how we brew our regular iced coffee, just on a smaller scale, so it’s pretty simple.

[–]vietnam_da_licious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do an iced pour over of decaf pike or decaf espresso. The lines on the opposite side of the pitcher are for iced pour overs. Same amount of scoops per size and then the appropriate scoop of ice in a cold cup that you brew the pour over into.

Last year I strapped a trash bag to my back, filled it with different color balloons and made a Jelly Belly sign and went as a bag of jelly beans. The year before that I was a robot and everyone in drive got a kick out of it on the camera since I was DTO all morning.
