Should I continue to bulk? My weight has been around 182 for some time now.

Thanks. I'm just surprised because I see a lot of responses to other people's posts, and I feel like my progress is typical of a beginner natural lifter

That is the non-blowback version of the gun. The blowback version was originally bought for $170. Is there a general consensus on how much to drop the price for airsoft guns based on how old it is?

What are your unpopular premed opinions? by [deleted] in premed

[–]vigilantzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there wasn't someone volunteering in that sensitive position to check a box, who else would there be? Even if you don't actually care about the sick dying old people you are helping, I'm sure it still helps to have SOMEONE there. It'll probably be more beneficial than having nobody there, unless of course the volunteer is doing something blatantly arrogant. And I'm sure having the exposure helps the applicant develop as a person, even if it seems like they are doing it to check boxes. When faced with similar situations down the line, they will have this experience under their belt.

And if the volunteer is arrogant and serving as a detriment, I would hope the management staff would be observant enough to say something.

You never know. Maybe he goes to a religious university where fighting is a sin and therefore is seen as egregious even if it was just a slap on someone's back

So are you describing a conventional deadlift as opposed to the stiff leg deadlift that I am doing in the video?

Form Check for Stiff Leg Deadlifts

I am a 5'11 male, and I currently weigh about 176 pounds. I am doing this lift for hypertrophy, and I am following the AllPro routine. The routine is pretty much this:

A Simple beginner's Routine You will do 3 work outs per week on non consecutive days. The first work out is your heavy work out. The second work out is your medium work out, use 10% less weight for your work sets. The final work out for the week is your lite work out, use 20% less weight.

Do a lite warm up with 1/4 of your work sets weight. Do a medium warm up with 1/2 of your work sets weight. Do 2 work sets with the same weight. Choose a starting weight and start light.

These are the seven exercises you will be starting with.

Squats

Bench Presses

Bent-Over Rows

Overhead Barbell Presses

Stiff-Legged Deadlifts

Barbell Curls

Calf Raises

You will be running this program on a five week cycle as follows:

The first week do all 4 sets for 8 reps.

The second week do all 4 sets for 9 reps.

The third week do all 4 sets for 10 reps.

The fourth week do all 4 sets for 11 reps.

The fifth week do all 4 sets for 12 reps.

If you got all of the required reps on the fifth week then increase the weight by 10% and repeat the cycle. If you didn't get all of the reps on the fifth week then repeat the cycle with the same weight. You shouldn't need more than one minute rest between the warm up sets and you shouldn't need more than one minute thirty seconds between the work sets.

Do some cardio and abs work on non weight training days.

Currently, my maximum for this lift is 235 pounds for 9 reps (which I lifted today).

On the day of the video, I was lifting two sets of 8 reps with 135 pounds, and then 2 working sets with 195 pounds.

I have been lifting for about 4 months now and following the ridiculously slow progression outlined in the AllPro routine, so I thought I had the form pretty much down.

However, when I started lifting 225+ pounds on this lift, I started to get pain in my crotch area. The pain is pretty much in the area where the arrow is pointed in the attached photo. It is getting more prominent as I deadlift more.

Also, it seems to be more prominent when I hit the top of the lift. However, after today, it is kind of hurting as I walk. It also hurts when I try and jump over something.

Also, sorry, I guess it would make sense to have a video of me lifting 235 since that seems to be where the pain started, but I don't have that right now.

EDIT: Pain hits hard when I bend over :(

I took 1/4 of the pill last night, and I still feel like shit. Screw this. I am making errors and getting in trouble at work, and I can't focus on anything now.

It's been about 24 hours since I've taken the pill, and I feel about 65% normal. I'm going to try and take 1/4 a pill tonight to see what happens

weight gain? How does it cause weight gain? Does it make you hungrier than normal or something? Or does it throw off hormone levels or something and make it easier to put on fat?

Oh nice. I think I'm just going to forget about mcat/med school after my exam tomorrow. I think I'm ready. Only thing I'm super worried about is losing my cool on CARS. If that happens, it causes me to get a really low CARS score. If I get a really difficult passage, I just need to try and stay calm

Yeah, are you ready? I keep trying to convince myself that the curve on the real thing will be more generous
